She was OK, she didn't seem that upset - she sang Always without crying and then after her performance she just said how grateful she was & how she'd enjoyed it really.

I read in a magazine last night a bit about her saying she didn't actually want to win, and quite often the runners up on this show do better than the winners (with the exception of Leona obviously), so maybe it's not all a bad thing.

But the more I think about someone like Eoghan being in the sem-final while Ruth is out, the angrier I get. I've been venting about it today to anyone who will listen.

You sound like my friend. When she spotted me today she marched over to me and started ranting about Ruth being out, it was 15min before I got a 'Oh, hi by the way'. I totally agreed with her though.

Im not happy about Eoghan being in the Semi-Final. It would be fine and dandy if he was on one of these Andrew Loylld Webber show, I think he'd be good in musical theatre. But how on earth can the British public think his Vocal/Preformance was better than Ruth's? During his second song you could barely hear him. I wish it hadnt been down to the public vote this week, i'm willing to bet Cherly and Loui would have kept Ruth in.

I love that everyone with a modicum of sense seems to be so angry about it, it makes me feel vindicated.

Because Eoghan is sweet and adorable and loved by teenage girls and grannies alike, that's evidently more important than what he's like as a singer on a SINGING TALENT show.

I think they would have too, which makes me even more upset and pissed off.

Ruth was the only truly talented one left, the only one with any likeability and the only one who sung every song like it was her last song. The show quite frankly is going to be awful without her, and I don't get how a lot of people couldn't see just what an amazing voice she had. I think she was let down by not having a region voting for her, and for some reason other women don't like strong, passionate women...they must find them threatening or something. Yet again the British public have proved how truly brainless they are.

And I'm sorry, but Alexandra does absolutely nothing for me, a poor man's Leona Lewis IMO.

I was waiting for Alexandra to give a performance like Listen. In her audition I thought she was amazing but in the live shows I'd not been that blown away until Listen last night.

I don't know who I want to win!

Yeah I think so too. He could be Oliver or a character like that.

Oliver was who I though he could play to ! Even though he's around 5-6 year older than 'Oliver'. Everytime I watch him I caint belive he's only a year younger than me. High School Musical is my guilty pleasure but you couldnt pay me to sing one of the songs lol.

I agree, she had the most passion and always gave over 100% I wanted her, JLS and Alexandra in the final. I think that line up would have made and amazing show. I think she might to better now she's gone. The X-Factors very pop based, she much more rock and she would/will do great with a band behind her IMO.
The only reason I think Eoghan is because he had the whole of Ireland voting for him

I like Alex, not as good as Leona imo, but much better than Leon lol. I want JLS to win, personally I think the judges where talking a load of bull yesterday. What Brittney song where they supposed to sing? I think Simon think there in for a chance of winning and know his boy's out next week. He has to be out next week! If he win's im calling fix

It's kind of unfair for Alex that she's following Leona coz she's automatically being compared to her. I think her Listen performance was as good as one of Leona's performances in its own right, OK she didn't do Leona's high twiddly bits but she put loads into it and it was brilliant.

I love High School Musical but not Eoghan singing We're All in This Together. I don't know why..he just seems so young.

I didn't like Ruth so I don't really care that she's gone. And I don't agree with the likeability comment, I think she came across as conceited and bigheaded. I didn't warm to her once.
I don't think she was the weakest though, that honour went to Eoghan. Why is he still there?

I thought Alexandra was amazing! By far the best singer on the show since the start and just as good as Leona, IMO. However, I like that Diana is so different so I'm still backing her. Either way, I would be happy.

Aww your icon!

There was something about Ruth that I couldn't relate to.

I think Diana needs to do really good performances next week, like she did in the first few weeks.

Hee. Belle&Aden make my heart melt. Expecially in this scene.

I agree! Something has been off for the last few weeks. She's not been bad or anything but the song choices could of been a little more suited to her voice.

This seems to be an unpopular opinion but I LOVE her hair. It's so cute.

Of course everyone's entitled to their own opinion and I'm not trying to bash you or anything, but I'm quite flabbergasted that anyone could think this. One of the reasons I love her so much is because I think she's the exact opposite of these things - a sweet, genuine, down to earth woman with a beautiful smile and a big heart who doesn't realise just how good she is. Not realising her full potential aside, I think she's a strong woman who's very confident about herself, maybe this could be mistaken as bigheadedness. I'm very choosy about who I like, but I just felt an instant click with Ruth, her warmth and personality just radiated from the screen for me and I couldn't help but fall in love with her.

Pretty much everyone I've spoken to is refusing to watch the show anymore and is outraged with Saturdays result, they all fell in love with her voice and personality and say it will be much duller without her, and that makes me feel incredibly vindicated.

I'm no fan of Dannii Minogue, but I think her song choices for Ruth the past few weeks have been spot on. IMO Ruth's performance of Love Ain't Here Anymore last week was her best of the whole show, I've shown that video to people who don't watch the show/don't even live in the UK and they all think it was utterly outstanding and that Ruth is incredible. And she has a voice much more suited to power ballads/rock songs as opposed to pop, so I think the choice of Always this week was perfect for her, really let her showcase those powerful lungs of hers. You could tell the song was special to her, she poured every ounce of her heart in to it, which explained her tears at the end. Not too many people (much less a female) could nail that particular song as pwerfully as she did. No matter the song, I always felt like she gave 120% every single week, and I think that's also partly what caused her to shine just that little bit brighter than the rest for me.

This is how you know I really like someone - I get all fangirly and write freakin essays about them.

I guess everyone has a different opinion. All my friends were in agreement with her going on saturday, they didn't hate her or love her. I have heard quite a few people saying they thought she was bigheaded though. She might not be, but it's the way the public take to you after all. She has a good voice but I just don't think she would sell well.

That second part you quoted was in reference to Diana not Ruth.

The voting has been wonky all series. Laura??!!! Really.

I didn't really have an opinion on Ruth either, I did think she got better and better though, but she wouldn't sell well, so I agree she should of gone.

I still absolutely love Diana, she is the most original person I have ever heard on that show. Although, I think after her being ill she's just finding her way back to the top again, which is understandable.

Alexandra, now I think she has an amazing voice. But she's someone I think would be around for a while and then drop off the radar, because lets face it there are so many people around like her at the moment imo. It's all been done before, I know that is unfair to her, but it's reality. And it is unfair that she is being compared to Leona, but I can't help but think she won't do anywhere near as well.

Eoghan should go next. And JLS need to do better next week.

I have to disagree with that. I think she would have sold albums/singles ect, ect well but to a diffrent market. The X factors all about pop, Ruth I think could do well with some rock ballad's and the such.

I kinda understand how alot of people thought Ruth was big headed, it took my sister a few weeks to warm up to her and I think its because where not used to seeing strong, driven women on the show. Yes most of the contestants are driven but they arnt what id call strong. Ruth understand that this isnt the end for her and she isnt looking at booting off as the end of the world like some contestants have.

I know the over category is there to help older people break into the business, but I think it's even harder for them.

I loved the songs Ruth did, Bon Jovi completely owns my heart . I love rock ballads, and rock is the best music in the world IMO. That's why I hate what the X Factor makes them sing sometimes . But I still think it would have been hard for her to do really well.
