I love that animation!
Isn't it just lovely! I adore Cheryl/Diana so much. I hardly think anyone this yr could be as cute as she was by herself and with Cheryl but we'll see. Either way, this yr I hope the ppl I like so far don't choke later on, that'd be so disappointing. I have a feeling that while I really like Danyl, because he gave such a great performance, he might not be able to top it in the coming eps. IDK.

How does everyone feel about the live audience? I hate it, personally.

I still think the winner's song would have suited Diana more than anyone.
I agree totally, and I wasn't even a fan of Diana, but her voice would have matched the simplicity and emotion of Hallelujah much better than Alexandra's did.

I don't like the live audience either, too much like Britain's Got Talent. But I see why they've included it, to see who'd be able to handle performing in front of a big audience in the live shows, which has always been a bit of a sticking point when choosing the final 12 contestants in the past.

Yeah but that's what bootcamp is for isn't it? I mean what's the point of bootcamp now with the live audience there for the audition?

I just think some people are nervous enough when they first audition without having to perform in front of thousands of people so I really don't think this new format helps them at all.

Alexandra's song was played for the first time on the radio today.

I agree. There's a natural escalating process for this show...the audition with just the judges - as it would be if they were really auditioning for record label execs - and then in front of ppl on a stage - once you get signed. I mean it's not rocket science. To accelerate it is dumb, IMO.

As I said, what I don't like about it is that it's very much in the style of Britain's Got Talent now, it just seems very copycat.

I hated the idea of the live audience at first, but now I really like it. There have been some really amazing performances so far that we just wouldn't have got with the old format. I feel like it's just the same old same old with the old auditions - they stand in the middle of the room and sing. There's no way of seeing how they can perform, if they have stage presence and if they can entertain an audience. I always found myself bored before, I'd think people had good voices but I was never wow'd by anyone like I have been this year.

I think it's more emotional too, getting to see people perform in front of this huge audience for the first time. Like that girl from Trinidad last week, it was sweet seeing how completely happy and overwhelmed she was by the way the audience reacted to her while she was singing. It wouldn't have been the same if she was just singing in a room with the judges, and I don't think you get that same experience when they build up to it through boot camp etc.

And that ani on the last page is adorable. Diana has been my fave too, but I also loved Cassie way back

On this week's show I really liked the girlband who did Toxic with a twist to it, and the guy at the end who sang Sex On Fire, especially the latter.

The guy whose brother passed away from lung cancer was pretty good too. Before I'd have scoffed and passed that off as a sob story used to get sympathy, but given that I'm in a very similiar situation myself atm I was really moved, I shed a tear or two when the little boy ran onstage crying.

I'm definitely warming to the live audience format, as mentioned above it adds that something extra that the auditions just didn't have before, I think it actually works very well.

I LOVED Jamie [afro] so much. I adored him the minute I saw him, IDK why. I think it was the afro. He's a natural performer and topped Danyl's performance from the last ep.

The guy whose brother passed away was good and honestly, his story touched me. I usually hate sob stories but I like him. I don't feel he needed to say it but it was a very touching story, esp when he was set to audition last yr as well.

I hate to say it but I agree with your point about being wow'd by ppl from the first week in. Last yr it took until bootcamp for me to get passionate about someone, although I loved Diana from the first audition. This time, I have a handful of favs I like already. That girl from Trinidad is SO cute and just made me so happy.

Honestly, for me, it's gonna come down to bootcamp since IDK what they're gonna do there since last yr, what we're seeing now for the first auditions would've been what we'd see for bootcamp. I really don't want ppl to flop when they have such good first auditions but I feel it's really gonna happen.

Love your icon, btw, the echo fades!

Thank yoou, I think a good percentage of my enjoyment of the X Factor is down to staring at Cheryl

I loved Jamie, he was fantastic. And I agree about the other guy too, I don't mind the sob stories when they're actually good, heh. Whereas with Daniel last year I felt like that was the only reason he was staying in over people who were much better than him.

And yeah, people keeping up the standard they've set with their auditions is definitely going to be hard. Especially with people like Danyl and Jamie, the performances they gave were already the kind of performances you'd expect from the live shows hopefully they'll just push themselves to get better and better.

I must admit, Cheryl makes very nice eye candy, I know a pretty girl when I see one. It's just a shame she's married to such a tosser.

Shining Light, unstrike that cause it's SO true, lol. I won't get into my Assley hate but seriously, she's so much better than him. I was so hoping Joseph from last yr would get on the show cause they would've been SO cute together. Just to watch her flirting and stuff with him.

YES! Oh god, THANK YOU. When I watched last yrs vids over [since I started watching late], I couldn't stand how he was being pushed on through the competition because he had some sob story. Yeah it's sad but I don't like when they use it to guilt me as a viewer. The difference, I feel, with him and this guy from last Saturday was that the guy this yr, I don't think, has the expectations to win. He wants to make his nephew/son proud. That's it. If he hadn't have made it through, I don't think he would've been disappointed. I like that.

That picspam is sooo pretty. I still need to picspam her from this week's ep. Cheryl is too flawless <3.

This past weeks ep wasn't jam packed with that many great performances but I like Lucie a lot. Lloyd was also interesting, I just hope he can really sing through the competition and not get by on just his good looks.
