No I actually agree that Alex didn't show much emotion in her version of Hallelujah. Compare it to all the other versions and it seems a bit...empty.

To be honest although she has got a great voice I was very disappointed when she won considering at the beginning of the series we had many original, fresh artists i.e. Austin, Laura, Ruth and Diana. I just didn't want another diva voice when we had such original artists like these in the line-up who imo were far more entertaining.

I agree. I don't feel like it's a memorable version. Then again she had a tough act to follow when you compare it to Jeff Buckley's version. Personally I would have loved to have heard Diana's version of the song.

It's a shame that imo some of the most talented artists left so soon. I loved Laura, Diana and Austin and I was so sure at least one of them would make it to the final and yet none of them did. I do like Alex though and I think she's got a great voice, out of the final 3 I'm glad she won, but I actually wish it had been a very different final.

The scary thing is that Eoghan was actually coming top with the public virtually every week.

Have you heard Diana's 50 second version of Hallelujah she did at bootcamp? It's incredible:

Much superior to Alex's imo.

And yeah Eoghan topping the votes is rather disturbing. Obviously a lot of little girls fancying him though. Interesting that Alexandra was never that high up in the voting until Week 8 though. She was very nearly in the bottom two in Week 7. I think Listen was the performance that changed everything. If she hadn't have sang that, I think we would have had a completely different winner.

I have to admit I absolutely loved her singing Listen, particularly in the final with Beyonce, when they sung that there was just no way she could lose imo. I thought it was an amazing performance and I am a huge Beyonce so just to see her on the show for me was incredible. They really had some great guests this year I thought.

Yeah I loved Diana singing it in bootcamp. It just makes me sad that we may never get to hear it. She recorded it but obviously she didn't get to the final and they didn't even give her a copy of her version.

Do we have know if she is going to be signed?

I heard JLS have been signed up, and I expect Eoghan will be, due to his popularity on the live shows. I just don't understand how he was coming top with average performances, how could people put him ahead of the likes of Laura and Austin is just beyond me. I really didn't like how Simon seemed to take all the risks with Austin and in the end it cost him his place in the show. Laura performed at my uni before Christmas and she was amazing, I hope she'll get signed by someone too.

Went to the X Factor tour on Tuesday night (this is my third year going) and have to say, it's the best tour yet! Also had the pleasure of meeting all the top 8 minus JB (from JLS) and Rachel. Had a lovely night and everyone was really nice, especially Diana Vickers who was nice enough to get Eoghan to sign his Top Trumps card for me when he was rushed along by his security guard. Eoghan and Diana did a duet

of Mariah's 'Anytime You Need a Friend'

ETA: Eoghan has infact been signed, also by RCA

they announced it at the tour; 6th of April release. They're sticking with the 'rock-pop' McFly/Busted thing it looks like, they played a clip of his new single and it's really catchy

Hey guys! The X-Factor was amazing this year, it was the only series that I've watched each and every episode of (even the Xtra Factor!) For me, JLS stood out by a mile. Not only are the four of them ridiciously good looking but they also have fantastic voices and infectious personalities. Really happy that they came second and even happier that they now have a recording deal.

JoeyDoris, I agree - the tour was fantastic. I went on Sunday night and enjoyed myself so much. Everyone was on top form and I enjoyed all the performances. JLS' in particular but Ruth really shocked me - she was incredible. Very passionate and amazing vocals. I'd always thought she was good but on Sunday, she quickly jumped to being my second favourite of the series. The cheers when she had finished were much much louder than they had been when she first came on. Alex was a bit dissapointing tbh but maybe that's just me.

I loved Diana, she was my favourite since bootcamp and the real winner to me.
Alex was just blah. Yeah she had an okay voice, a little too low for my tastes, but she imo is just a Leona Lewis wannabe except she is nowhere near as good. She ruined Hallelujah for me

I agree that Alex was a bit samey and bland but she's a lovely lady and will do great in the sort of diva demographic.

Have to say, I'm looking forward to Eoghans album, his new singles really catchy, you guys should give it a listen ('28,000 Friends')

He has a single out already? I didn't know that. I liked him, but I don't think enough to buy his music and I still don't understand how he came top so many weeks in the viewers vote, he was good, but I don't think he was the best in all those shows. Just my opinion though. I do think he's adorable though and a really nice guy.

Out of the final 3 I did want Alex to win, purely because I thought she had the most talent out of the 3 and the Beyonce performance blew me away. But I also wanted a very different final

Her version of Hallelujah will not stand the test of time, it's not memorable. I only listen to Jeff Buckley's version of that song.

Does anyone know if Laura was signed?
