Come on! Where are my Top Chef-aholics at? A new season has begun and they chose NY as the backdrop.

Sad to see Patrick go! Not only was he CUTE, but he made up 1/3 of Team Rainbow!

Thoughts on the contestants & season?

The second episode is still waiting on my DVR (silly fiancee hogged the TV for video games all night), but I'm really enjoying this season already.

I thought it was sad that the first two to go were friends and knew each other.

I don't remember his name - I think it was Stefan - the guy who won the first challenge - anyways, I don't like his attitude, but I have a nagging feeling that he's going to make it a long ways. Bah.

I like the other two members of team rainbow... they both had a good sense of humor. They'll probably have to narrow it down a little bit more before I can pick a favorite.

I like this season since it's in my hometown (NYC!) but I have to admit none of the chefs are really inspiring me to cook something interesting and new (which is usually what happens when I watch this show). So far my faves are Fabio and Absinthe (Jamie). I know the restaurant where she works and I've been meaning to try it cause every time I pass it's always packed.

Ariane needs to go. She just sucks and if she doesn't believe in herself, why should I?

I did think the NY chefs were overdoing it though. It was clearly nothing but sour grapes in that room and I thought it was pathetic.

I don't remember his name, but I like the hispanic guy that didn't go to culinary school but worked his way up from being a dishwasher or whatev. I'm a sucker for that kind of storyline.

But, I completely agree with you, Ariane needs to go. I don't understand why she didn't go this week.

Man, first Patrick now Richard... it seems my favorites are leaving early. But, I honestly can't blame them for eliminating him over smores. Stupid decision to make that.

Loved the Quickfire challenge, with turing the Past Chef's recipe into a soup.

I also loved the soup quick fire challenge. I wasn't so hot on the Thanksgiving challenge with microwaves and toaster ovens. ... and the Foo Fighter thing seemed a little random.

It was nice to see Ariane redeem herself, but I still don't think she has a shot in hell. She must be a good cook, or she wouldn't be there, but wow - her lack of confidence is rough.

I'd like to see one of the two European men go. They're both so cocky!! Cute, but cocky.

So far Gene is my favorite and I also like Jamie & Jeff. I really really want Gene to win, but I think it'll be either Fabio or Stefan.

I love Fabio! Stefan is just okay... but I see him lasting longer.

I liked Patrick and Richard, and they were both eliminated.

I agree that Stefan will likely last longer... and I like him less.

I really liked Patrick too! I was sad when the eliminated him, I felt like Ariane should have gone that time.

There are still so many contestants that it's hard to sort out who's who and who I like and who I don't. I'm excited for them to eliminate a few more so I can pick out favs and those I dislike.

I usually don't pick a favorite until I wanna say... 8 contestants are left.

I've never actually watched the show episode by episode, just caught it in marathons... so this is a whole different experience.

In marathons, you don't really get that attached or concerned about picking a favorite till towards the end. But yeah, it seems hard to pick a fav right now. Any of them could severely piss me off or make me love them at this point.

Wonder how he feels about Tom now. He totally slammed his smores.

For good reason, it was such a dumb decision to even make them in the first place. Ugh... Just like with Patrick cooking the noodles he's never worked with. Sometimes I want to try to understand there thought process.

Even last week with the Ostrich egg! I don't get it.
