Yeah, they broke up, I saw the video last night. In it he said they made it official last month, but a few days ago she dumped him; said they were on different paths. He seemed pretty hurt over it but yet still said great things about her. I'm assuming he took it down because of her and didn't want to embarrass or hurt her. I personally think they still have a chance, the love is clearly there, the timing is just not right.
I'm hoping when he gets home they will give it another shot. They just seem perfect together to me.

I guess it also depends on what his plans are for when he gets back. If he isn't planning on moving to NYC then they would be long distance yet again. I still don't know if I would dump him when he was in Iraq...

But, in the same time, how fair is to Baya? He's deployed and going through some rough times that's understandable but just because he's over there is not a good enough reason to stay in a [long distant] relationship. It's def. not fair to Ryan either if she wasn't in all the way.

I heard he was moving to NYC when he returned for good. He did say it somewhere but my memory is not all that clear to where he said it. I hope that when he returns everything is more in place for her and they can try it again.

I sure hope so.

Anyway, that thing that Ryan filmed with a RW camera crew a few months ago is finally coming out. Not surprisingly, it's premiering on Veterans Day.

I was hoping that Ryan and Baya would still be going out when his MTV special came out hoping that she would somehow be on the special. Now that they broke up though who knows.

Any viewer of The Real World Brooklyn vividly remembers the emotional moment when cast member, and Army vet, Ryan Conklin was unexpectedly recalled for a second tour of duty in Iraq. Return to Duty is Ryan's gritty and very personal document of his return as a patrol gunner to the sweltering streets of Baghdad. Equipped with his own video camera, and the addition of a camera crew embedded with his unit, it's a soldier's view of America's changing military presence in the long war in Iraq. His very close-knit family back home must cope with the fear and absence of their son fighting overseas once again; while his new found relationship with Brooklyn Real World roommate Baya is put to a critical test.

So I guess she will be on it in some capacity. Too bad it doesn't have a happy ending...
