Fire Island sizzles at One Ocean View, the summer share beach house where eleven attractive, single, career-driven New Yorkers flee Manhattan each Friday to escape the soaring city temperatures for a different kind of heat, as One Ocean View debuts on MONDAY, JULY 31 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. This marks the first network summer reality series to be set on Fire Island.

One Ocean View is a show about people old enough to have real jobs, issues and baggage, but still young enough to leave all that behind and have a great time. Fun, flings and nights filled with romance heat up as the days grow shorter and the pressure builds to make this a summer to remember.

MTV's The Real World producers, Jonathan Murray and Joey Carson, are the executive producers of One Ocean View. The co-executive producers are Laura Korkoian and Dana DeMars. One Ocean View is produced by Bunim-Murray Productions.

I wouldn't get to used to this show if I were you. The ratings were horrible for the series premiere. From mediaweek:

Although CBS ranked first on this typical summer Monday, the big -- or not so big -- news was the dead-on-arrival debut of ABC’s One Ocean View. The non-scripted One Ocean View was a distant third at 10 p.m., with a mere 2.5/ 4 in the overnights, 3.61 million viewers and a 1.5/ 4 among adults 18-49. Comparably, retention out of a repeat of lead-in Supernanny (Overnights: #3, 3.8/ 6; Viewers: #3, 5.87 million; A18-49: #3, 2.3/ 6 at 9 p.m.) was just 66 percent in the overnights, 61 percent in total viewers, and 65 percent among adults 18-49. In addition, One Ocean View dipped in the second half-hour by 15 percent in the overnights (2.7/ 4 to 2.3/ 4) and 370,000 viewers (3.80 to 3.43 million). In other words, it looks like The One is not the only summer 2006 dud for ABC.

I actually really enjoyed the premiere episode. I had intended to boycott any show on ABC since they keep canceling shows left and right, but I decided to give the show a chance.

Tick, tock…the cancellation clock is ticking.

Would it have been so horrible to just show the entire season? It was probably only 6-8 episodes...and it's the summer. I just do not get ABC. What did they expect?

I am officially boycotting ABC now. They yanked How To Get The Guy with only one episode to go and now they've yanked OOV. I actually enjoyed this show, too.

I definitely think Lauren/Zack (the ex-couple) need to sever all ties with one another. They are pretty much poison to each other and just cause way too much drama in each other's lives.

Yeah, Zach needs to move on...and forget about Lauren. KJ/Mary need to hook up...and John needs to stop being a jerk about his attraction to Heather...because, you can tell they both like eachother...

I'm not boycotting ABC...most of my shows will be on ABC this season...but, it does suck that ABC couldn't just let it play out...really, would it have been that bad?

Is Mary the blond that used to be a volleyball player? I did like her and KJ together. I didn't like those two trampy girls that joined the house this past episode. Especially the one that hooked up with that arrogant guy.
