For many soon-to-be seniors, it's time to battle it out for the position of editor-in-chief. But only one will score the top slot.

Meet Amanda, the paper's copy editor. She checks the grammar and flow of all the stories, but she prefers to oversee everything. Amanda sees herself as enthusiastic and driven, but some staffers think she's on a power trip. To win them over, she may have to learn some tough lessons.

Amanda will face-off against her good friend, Alex, the paper's sports editor. Alex, who's a friend to everyone, is a gifted writer but he's looking to branch out and cover more ground as a journalist -- and as editor-in-chief.

Then there's the business manager, Adam, who has a flair for the dramatic. Adam doesn't do anything halfway, which is exactly why he thinks he has a good shot at becoming editor-in-chief.

Also in the running is Giana. She's the paper's clubs editor and although a strong contender for editor-in-chief, she sometimes gets distracted by her co-worker and boyfriend, Trevor.

Speaking of Trevor, you can never count him out. As a math genius and layout king, he's always angling in on something. Trevor, along with Cassia, the staff's most vocal activist, and Dan, the staff's most vocal, well, the staff's most vocal... you never know who will come out on top.

The pressure is on at The Circuit to become the paper's "Big E." But as the drama unfolds, who'll excel and who'll have a meltdown? And once the decision is made, will they stay friends till the end?

I checked it out. Not sure about it yet. Amanda is already getting on my nerves though I did feel a little bad for her towards the end of the ep.

I liked Amanda, actually.

Which is kinda weird... because I used to work for my College Paper and hated my Copy Editor/Editor in Chief. But, I think the fact that she has personality and charisma... and maybe the way MTV edited it... I kinda hated everyone else but her.

We'll see how the next few eps go. I didn't hate her or anything, but she was getting on my nerves with some of her actions. And on the flip side I thought some of the other people were really mean to her......a few of them seemingly her friends.

it was funny when she went and saw she was editor and they all were quiet.

I watched this when I saw a link for it on MTV's website, it was actually quite entertaining.

The whole school paper thing is nowhere near as competitive over here (UK), in-fact you had to be persuaded to join it and as for anyone wanting to be editor - well it doesn't happen very much. I quite liked Amanda too actually she has a good work ethic and didn't let all the mean things the others were saying get her down. I couldn't believe some of the things they were shouting out on the phone, they must have known she'd be able to hear them also

Haven't seen the second episode yet but it only aired last night I think.

Just watched the first three episodes of this show on MTV.com, and I really enjoyed it. Amanda's kind of odd, but she grew on me, and I certainly feel for her because the rest of the staff (except Cassia) is so unneccessarily rude to her. I like Adam all right most of the time, and I think Alex is generally a good guy, even though a lot of his behavior in the first few episodes has annoyed me. I think the only ones I really dislike, though, are Trevor and Giana. My distaste for them set in right in the first episode (especially when Trevor was whining to the camera about Amanda getting EiC with Amanda sitting right behind him) and hasn't let up.

Anyway, I don't get MTV, but I think I'll be keeping up with this show online, if only to remember how much I'm not nostalgic for high school.

I'm actually quite a big fan of this show - I adore it. I think it's quite funny & entertaining. I've only seen 3 episodes though - the first 2 and last weeks. So I need to watch the ones I missed in between sometime.

Can't wait for it tonight.

This show is such a guilty pleasure!

Amanda can be annoying, but I am totally on her side! Giana is a bitch and so is her boyfriend! They are clearly jealous that Amanda got EIC over them!
people are just haters! I know I don't know what their lives were like before, but they are just so rude to her!

They are really mean to Amanda, and need to respect her

Alex is such a punk with no backbone. he says one thing to Amanda then doesn't defend her for telling her to do it!

The dramatic guy is so annoying!

I can't stand Giana. She is my least favorite person on the show and is just plain mean.
