Greatest American Dog

Greatest American Dog

Twelve extraordinary teams of dogs and owners from across the nation from "pageant dogs" to those simply trained at home, will live together and compete against each other in challenges that put the owners' ability to train their dogs to the test. Each week, the judges will eliminate one dog and their owner. The last remaining team will walk away with a $250,000 cash prize and the title of GREATEST AMERICAN DOG.

Travis and Presley

Ron and Tillman

Michael and Ezzie

Laura and Preston

Elan and Kenji

David and Elvis

J.D. and Galaxy

Laurie and Andrew

Brandy and Beacon

Beth Joy and Bella Starlet

Bill and Star

Teresa and Leroy

........

i watched the first episode last week. the concept is pretty ridiculous, but i love dogs so i don't mind. my favorite is Elvis & David! the dog is so cute & David isn't as crazy as the other owners IMO. i felt sorry for the the guy who was eliminated last week though - it was clear that he really loved his dog.

Well the concept for most reality shows is kinda ridiculous

Tonight, Star got bit by something and had to go to the vet She was fine though. Elan and Kenji got the boot tonight. Thank god. She was always screaming at the poor dog

Travis and Presley are so cute. I love how he talks to his dog And Bill and Star area great team too

I love dogs too, and they always make me smile which is why I'll probably watch the show till the end

I'm really enjoying this show, some of the owners are getting on my nerves but all the dogs are adorable.

My favorite pair are Bill and Star. :ssigh: I also really like Leroy and Tillman, don't care for their owners to much.

Exactly

I like Tillman too. I had to laugh last night when his owner said he was a "farter, not a fighter"

Brandy has got to go! OMG! She is annoying me to no end! I mean just a bit self centered much?! I like her dog, but she is just WOW, I never thought anybody could be that annoying.

I'm a fan of Leroy, but I don't like how Teresa works with him, she seems to harsh.

Aww..I was sad to see Ron and Tilman go...I really dont get the judges. I mean, Bulldogs look "lazy" naturally- they lay on the floor half asleep most of the day. So Ron tried something different. Tillman laying his head on the back of the chair while Ron was trying to get him to do SOMETHING was actually LAZY! I cant believe the judges didnt get that

I REALLY disagree with a photoshoot with the emotion ANGRY. HOW this show could even get away with having that is beyond me! In order to get a dog to become angry, you would have to do some pretty cruel things to it, such as yelling at it or acting like you are going to hit it or scaring it or any number of things that would be cruel. Even then some dogs might not get angry. But just having to practice for that would put the dog in such distress and be utterly confusing.

Not cool. Whoever came up with that is beyond stupid, and are totally to blame..I mean, not only does it do nothing for the dog, its dangerous..as shown when Teresa got bitten. Noone wants to make a dog angry, and the snarl band (which I believe is approved for use on movie and TV sets) was a bad choice...but a lot less problematic for me that having the owner taunt their pet, possibly leading to other trust issues down the road.

I cant really think of what she could have done. Unless he had a toy that he growled at or something Or let him rip something to shreds or something?

I thought Bill, for all his worry, did a good job. The first thing I thought of with "Stubborn" was my dog NOT wanting to move and just planking her butt down

Hilarious moment...Tillman farted on the way out the door! Priceless.

I was also sad to see Ron and Tillman go. I don't like any of the female judges, and why is it that the one female judge has to bring her dog everytime? Leave your dog at home lady?!?

I can't wait till next week. And I am hoping that Brandy/Beacon are the next to go - she is annoying and so rude.

I am so disappointed Bill and Star are gone. They were my faves. Now I hope it goes to Teresa and Leroy.

I don't understand this show, you have the judges who are all animal activists, and you have the dogs doing stunts like jumping from 20 feet, and getting chased by an elephant....I mean do they not see the room for error in these stunts? You want to prove a dog is a good dog, have them herd cattle or play fetch or something.

I was sad to see Star leave...she was such a nice, relaxed dog. I guess I'll be rooting for Presley or Galaxy now.

As you can tell, I'm all about the dogs - I don't even remember the owners names

Shari, yup can't complain about the pretty I get to play with.

I'm very happy with who the judges decided was the greatest american dog.

I remember the names of the people I like..like Travis. He is just awesome with Presely. Glad to see that he won

Some super cute pictures of Travis and Presley are on his webpage

Bill and Star would've won, hands down, if they had made it to the end...I wish they had.

I missed the first part of the ep, where Galaxy was eliminated. Did they really ask JD how often do you bathe Galaxy? Are you kidding me?

This show is so flawed, its laughabe. Who picks a dog to be the greatest american dog because it can sit near an elephant? Or jump from high places on a wire? Are you kidding me?

I doubt the show will be back, but if it ever is, I hope they change the challenges...and some of the judges and how they base their decisions.
