The Apprentice 6 (premieres January 7)

Official site (NBC)

According to nbc.com, the premiere will be 90 minutes long, starting at 9:30/8:30 on January 7, 2007.

Quote:
"The Apprentice" moves to Southern California for season six of the unscripted series, leaving Manhattan for the first time in the history of the show. Trump will once again do the firing - and the hiring - as 18 enterprising candidates vie for the coveted title of "The Apprentice" and the career opportunity of a lifetime working for the legendary business tycoon.

Along with the new Southern California backdrop comes a whole new series of surprising twists and turns that will make this the liveliest and most challenging competition yet among candidates eager to become the next "Apprentice."

In a compelling social experiment of haves and have nots, contestants this season will have to earn the right to live like Trump. Each week, the contestants on the winning team will get to live in a luxurious mansion. But contestants on the losing team will have to sleep outside in tents in the back yard of the mansion with outdoor showers and port-a-potties, giving contestants more incentive than ever to win their tasks each week.

In another engaging new twist, the winning project manager each week will remain project manager until they lose, plus they will also sit in the boardroom and help advise Trump on who he should fire each week from their opposing team. Ivanka and Donald Trump Jr. will return for several episodes, along with previous "Apprentice" winners, as boardroom advisors to their father.

this is the one reality show that i absolutely can not get into. i think out of all the 5 seasons, i've only watched one episode, and it was because the band Simple Plan was going to be on there b/c one of the teams was going to have to do something w/ them.

Donald annoys me greatly and i think that's one of the reasons that i can't watch.

It's definitely been going downhill. I wasn't even going to watch this season because my favorite judge (Carolyn) got fired but I'll probably give it another shot.

I'm not sure I like the concept of the losing team sleeping in tents. I just feel it's an unneeded twist.

I agree and it's one of the criticisms I've heard of the show this season. The move to LA and the judges are a big enough change for me.

Tents? Huh? I haven't watched this show in a few years, and I don't think I will this year either. I really liked Carolyn. And Trump hasn't impressed me lately with his antics.

Here's my take on it.

Ever since the first few seasons, the Apprentice has just plummeted for me. It had gotten so boring. But I kept watching anyway.

I think this whole new concept [moving to LA and Losing team in Tents] is an attempt to become an interesting show again. And although the whole Tents thing is a tad on the cheesy side, I think it will bring in viewers. People like watching other people suffer.

Anyways, I never preferred Carolyn. So having Trump's daughter as a judge instead of her doesn't really phase me.

I'll tune into this season, because I always do [even if it bores me to death.]

Maybe this new thing will work, maybe it won't.

I was sort of excited about the move to L.A. just to spice things up but I feel the whole haves vs have nots thing is like they're trying too hard to be like every other reality show out there. I think The Apprentice is unique enough where they don't have to pull stunts like making people sleep in tents. I liked that it was a more serious show where there's an actual paying job at the end instead of just a cheque for doing next to nothing.

I don't know. Hopefully it'll be better than it actually sounds.

I did too. The tents really bring them down a few levels.

I think they should have had the winning team in a mansion and losing team just in the regular place.

What makes the tents thing even cheesier is that the mansion that the winning team will be staying in and the tents that the losing team will be sleeping in are only seperated by a hedge. So the 'tent' people can look through the hedge and see what the winning team is doing and vice versa

Yah, I saw a commercial where they were peeking through the hedges. So cheesy!
