I don’t think they looked into who was still “relevant”, but who was available and willing to do it, whether it was players from current seasons, or earlier seasons.

If people don’t remember them, they can just treat the season like a normal season of “new” players.

Plus I think they have people who scope out social media activity and who's more likely to have a following.

I'm sure both Paul and Josh had/have a following but if they were one the show I wouldn't watch.
