Carly Pope - Message Board Closure Notice

Hi everyone. This topic is to inform you that this message board will be closing on November 8, due to a lack of sustained traffic. We had established a minimum weekly post count requirement of 100 posts per board per week, and unfortunately, this board didn’t meet that minimum requirement, so the Management Team and I have made this difficult decision. We encourage you to start discussion topics about Carly Pope on the Female Celebrities Board here at Fan Forum after this board has closed, so you can continue to discuss your favorite actress here. We regret the necessity of having to do this, but we want Fan Forum to be a website with message boards that are busy and thriving, so we can add more boards and build for the future. Thanks for understanding.

Sorry gang.

I made a decision NOT to tell you about the board checks two months ago. Last time we had them, Sandi and I informed you of them and the post count went up, just for the period of time during the checks. Then as soon as the checks were over, everyone stopped posting. I realized that wasn't what the board should be here for, so I thought we should give it a go without having the 'threat' of a closure hanging over us. Besides, alot of you guys are mods yourselves, so you were already aware of the situation.

Anyway, I'm very sad to see this board go, but I certainly hope we can continue our discussions on a Carly thread at the FC board.

Cass, it's certainly not your fault, like you said, alot of us are Mods and we knew about the counts. We just couldn't pull it all together I suppose.

I'm really going to miss this board. I've posted here ever since I was a member and lurked for at least a year or so beforehand. I've met alot of great people here and we've had alot of fun. I really hope we can keep the Carly love going on a FC board thread cause I don't want the wonderfulness of "Popular" or it's actors to fade away. We at least owe them that.

I have to say that I'm not sure that was the best thing to do, considering that--except for Questions & Answers--this is only board that didn't make the post count.

Well most of the other moderators 'got out the vote' if you will. We barely scraped by the last time we had post checks, and like I said, as soon as it was over, we dropped off rapidly again.

The point of the checks themselves is to make sure we have active and thriving message boards here. Unfortunately, this board is neither of those. We didn't reach the 100 post min by about 60 posts. So not even half. I don't think the posters around here should have to be coerced into posting because of a threat. That's why I decided not to mention it. I'm honestly not sure it would have made a huge difference anyway, we would have had to at least double the count we pulled.

As for this being the only board, that's not entirely true. There are a list of exempt boards from the checks, because they're newer ones. A few of those didn't meet the requirement either.

I wish I had more time lately to post, but its sad to see the board go.
