Sandi said she's trying to remember the topics that were up before the servers went kablooey. Well, one of them was the Carly News Thread, started by Blairy the Fairy. No sign of anyone starting a new one, so I guess I might as well. As for news, well, season 2 of Popular has been showing on British tv (channel 5, approximately 12.30 in the afternoon, Saturdays) for about 10 weeks now. (Edited in later: It's still showing, about two 3rds of the way through season 2 now.) Don't know if that counts as news anymore. Also, Carly's been in a Jessie Farrell music video, with big bro' Kris (got that from www.carly-pope.com. -Sandi added it in on 10/5/02). Wouldn't mind getting some news myself, actually. Various Positions was released at the Montreal film festival on the 24th of August 2002. Anybody know if it's going to get a theatrical release? Finder's Fee had its theatrical release, but what about video? More Than You Know and Through The Skin: what happened to these two Carly movies? A long time ago in a forum far, far away Sandi said she'd look into that last question. Find anything out Sandi? Ok people, start posting the news, hey?

Novak as in Novak room in Popular? Must be intentional reference. Early in season 2 of Popular (ep 25, Citizen Shame), Carly says "Now I'm moving to Orange County!".

Welcome to Carly board, maRRiEDtoELiZa! [img]smilies/wave.gif[/img] Don't know of any new ones. Newest I know of is Paper, Scissors, Stone, due out in 2003, but that's old news and she's finished her work on it.

Possible release date for Paper, Scissors, Stone: late May (2003). Just been lurking on the Brendan Fehr board's Questions for Mr. Manager thread and picked up the info there.

hey, no latest news on carly so far aye? it is true that she doesn't really fancy her personal life to be exposed? i mean relevant matters? and i would just like to know about her academic history, trying to tracked it down but couldn't get close to any clues so far, anyone? the so-called latest thingee is bout her doing her first semester in British Columbia Univ., but on what??, that is what i would like to know.. According to super moderator Lisa (who knows Carly), Carly's a private person who wants to keep her privacy and keep her private life and work separated.

Ok, what I'm going to say here isn't news in the sense of being new to everyone, but it's probably new to a lot of people, so it's news of sort (and we're short of news here).

Disturbing Behavior: Carly's main role was cut and is only on the dvd version, but she has a second role that wasn't cut and can be found on the vhs version too.

It's a tiny, uncredited non-speaking part, but she does it with gusto and her recognizable mischievous sense of humor and taste for parody. She definitely makes the most of it.

It's in the final scene (inner city classroom). She's the girl who walks into the classroom at the beginning of the scene and later turns off the radio.

Most people don't seem to be aware of it and, seeing as it's quality work in her big screen debut, it deserves to be pointed out.

Just checked imdb. Nothing new there.

I have good news for all Carly-Fans where can watch
the german broadcasting station "Super RTL".
(Per satellite via Astra for example).

On this Sunday at 10:05PM(GMT+01:00) the TV-Movie:

"Trapped in a Purple Haze" under the name
"Wenn Mutterliebe zur Hölle wird" will be shown on Super RTL.
