I don't know, but apparently none of them have signed their contracts.

'CSI' Catches the Most International TV-Watching Eyeballs

Quote:
Last year, FOX's "House" claimed the title of most-watched TV program in the world, but this weekend a different TV drama reclaimed its status as the most popular show among international audiences.

CBS' long-running "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" toppled "House" with more than 73.8 million viewers worldwide, according to the esteemed Monte-Carlo Television Festival.

This isn't the first time the ten-year-old forensics crime drama has been declared the world's most popular show by the fest - in fact, the "CSI" franchise has dominated almost every year of the International TV Audience Award's five-year history. "CSI: Miami" was the first show to be honored as the most-watched drama internationally in 2006, and its forerunner "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" took the award in 2007 and 2008. But the original "CSI" was bested in 2009 by "House," the same year it suffered a significant drop in ratings when the show's central character Gil Grissom (William Petersen) left in its ninth season.

Although its U.S. ratings have begun to climb as people tune in to see Laurence Fishburne take over as the show's main character, it still hasn't wholly regained its prominence in the American market. But apparently when the world wants to watch a crime drama, "CSI" is still its number-one choice.

The world's most-watched comedy has faced similar troubles retaining American viewers in recent years. The Monte-Carlo fest named ABC's "Desperate Housewives" the most popular comedy worldwide, even though American viewers have been gradually tuning out for some time. This international adoration for the "Desperate Housewives" might give some consolation to the women of Wisteria Lane, especially after the show hit its all-time ratings low last month in key demographics.

As for "CSI's" future, box office domination could be the next step. Departed lead character William Petersen told fans that Gil Grissom will be leaving his fingerprints on the silver screen in an upcoming "CSI" movie. While production hasn't started yet, Petersen told TV Guide the jump to the big screen will happen while the show is still on-air: "We can't wait for ‘CSI' to end or Grissom will be about 90."

Cibrian leaving Miami

Quote:
Following the announcement that CSI: Crime Scene Investigation is dropping Liz Vassey (Wendy Simms) from the series, it has now been revealed that CSI: Miami is making a similar decision. CBS has chosen not to pick up Eddie Cibrian’s contract, meaning that Jesse Cardoza will not be returning to the Sunshine State in season nine.

Cibrian was one of several actors added to the Miami cast at the start of season eight in the wake of Adam Rodriguez’s (Eric Delko) departure from the show. Rodriguez appeared periodically throughout the season, and as CSI Files previously reported, the actor will be reinstated as a full time cast member in the fall. However, it has not been revealed whether Rodriguez’s return influenced the decision not to renew Cibrian’s contract.

Apparently he'll be on for the first few episodes of the season, but will leave now that Adam is back full-time.

I'm glad Adam is around, but again... I think it's not a good move.

*sigh*

Wonder if its the 'warning' death knell for Miami... (i.e. just doing away w/ 'dimples' character)

I think he was more sexier on Third Watch. Didn't really like him on CSI Miami.

Vanessa Marcil… Giovinazzo?

That mouthful of a (married?) moniker caught viewers of this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards off guard, yet was in keeping with how the ‘General Hospital‘ superstar (she returns to the role of Brenda in August) adopts a secretive approach to her personal life.

After all, this is the brunette beauty who three years ago let me announce her engagement… yet would not go so far as to specify whom she would make her groom. (You can read that carefully written TVGuide.com exclusive here.) The smart money was on director Ben Younger being her prospective husband, though that marriage never came to be… well, as far as anyone knows.

That ‘CSI: NY‘ star Carmine Giovinazzo was able to make Marcil his bride, even on the QT, is a considerable coup. (The two first dated back in the late 1990s.) Yet a source tells me that despite Marcil’s surprising Emmy-night billing, the couple might not have actually exchanged vows – though they do plan to.

“Vanessa keeps her private life private” is all the actress’ rep will say on the matter.

Marcil herself has never been shy about her lack of want to one day become someone’s bride – “in the government’s eyes, anyway,” she once told me.

Interestingly, Marcil’s maybe-marriage to Giovinazzo came to light the very same week that we learned of Brian Austin Green secretly tying the knot with longtime love Megan Fox (’Transformers’), in Hawaii. Should I need to connect the dots for anyone, Marcil and Green met on the set of ‘Beverly Hills, 90210‘ and share a son – Kassius, now 8 – though never were man and wife.
Wow! That sure was on the down-low!

CSI Files previously posted that Marg Helgenberger (Catherine Willows) signed a new deal to stay with CSI: Crime Scene Investigation for the time being. It has now been confirmed that costar Eric Szmanda (Greg Sanders) will be back on the crime drama this fall following his own contract negotiations. This still leaves the future of George Eads (Nick Stokes) and Paul Guilfoyle (Jim Brass) up in the air, and the details of Jorja Fox’s (Sara Sidle) return to the show have not been revealed.
