M -- oooh... that is scary! No one wants that kind of neighborhood drama!

Karen -- keep us posted on your job hunt! I hope you find that perfect something... Sometimes I consider doing a seasonal thing, but its hard enough to get chunks of time to do anything now as it is...

Today I made some nommy macaroni and cheese. Normally I don't toot my own horn about my kitchen skills (especially since they consist of tea, toast, and macaroni and cheese) but this was quite nommy. I used both white cheddar and marble cheddar, paprika, mustard powder, and just enough bread crumbs.
Oooh thanks for that recipe! Am bookmarking it for later.... Good thing I'm not hungry!

I just indulged in some banana-walnut pancakes that I made.... Mmmmmm... I try not to eat a lot of bread based foods... but I'll make an exception for the occasional pancake LOL

I am such a carb monster- it's definitely what I'm using to replace protein, but I should be satisfied on both counts with mac & cheese

Ugh what a day/night yesterday was.

First was the home invasion - a neighbor pissed off a friend (more like a drug customer, yeah, he's a drug dealer) and the friend got back at him home invasion style.

Then some sadistic moron went around the area last night knocking on doors and shooting people! Two are dead and one little girl is in critical condition. Who the hell does that?

So now more information is becoming available - according to one news source, the shooting rampage started over a group of kids turning down buying pot from a man who offered. When they said no, he pulled out a shotgun and shot them. He got angry and went around shooting random people.

Sick. Some people are sick.

I hope they catch this guy. The little girl is seriously hurt and two adults died. One boy was spared, the bullet went through the sleeve of his sweater and missed him entirely. I study these type of people in school, but sometimes, you just can't wrap your head around why they do this and why there are people like this. So what! Kids are smart and don't want to buy pot. Don't get angry at them because they said no and shoot them! Shoot yourself. One less moron on this planet, right?

Astra.

My sister received a call from the tory party (looking for support, I suppose) and on the topic of the gun registry my sister was given the impression that signing the registry was giving the authorities the automatic right to search private properties. I lolled my butt off at that, I even did some checking around and from what I can see this woman was shamelessly fear-mongering.

I'm just tired. I don't know why. My friend said the same thing.

I slugged through classes today. I am exhausted, must be the weather. However, I did go out and vote. That is more important than being tired.

M, good for you! Was in municipal, provincial, or a federal bi-election?

Astra, I can't believe how many political ads there are on tv. I'd love to read some studies on this- I'm sure the images used play psychologically. There's a guy in New York and his opponents are using bad pictures of him with deep circles under his eyes in black and white- I wonder how that plays in the minds of most people watching tv.

I bought a coffee for half-off today from my favourite coffee place and it was so crazy. My friend looked like she wanted to run away.
