Watched WSWB last night. That was the only episode where I actually wanted to see Xander/Willow kiss. That scene at the beginning where they were eating ice cream was just so cute but ultimately it wasn't meant to be. It was still a cute scene though and sad how he didn't realize Willow was trying to recreate the moment later in the episode. I felt bad for her when he couldn't take his eyes off Buffy and didn't notice her anymore. :no:

I think Willow was the backup choice in those seasons. She was even a backup choice to Cordelia. It was too bad it took Xander until Season Three to cheat on his girl #2, which is Cordelia, with girl #3.

I don't think Xander ever consciously did anything like that. He spent lots of time single, so if all he wanted was a girlfriend & he was keeping Willow around for if he could get someone better, then he would have been dating her pre-season 1 :shrug:

I hate the cheating in s3, but I think the both of them were just confused. They'd been friends for such a long time, they really cared about each other & they were teenagers in these life & death situations a lot of time. Don't get me wrong, I hated it so much, but they did both pay for it afterwards.

The cheating in Season Three was a little off with them, considering they were both in relationships.

The cheating honestly is something I both understand and don't like how it all went down. On the one hand, it's fairly realistic that two people who had been friends as long as they had started doing things like what happened on the show. On the other hand, it seemed so out of place within both characters. It's like the writers just wanted a bit of conflict on the show

They probably did, but I'd imagine they didn't expect the reaction that whole storyline got :lol:

I don't think I've seen any of the writers ever talk about it - it would be interesting to know what the motivations behind it were & what purpose they think it served :shrug:

Yeeeah I didn't enjoy their cheating storyline in s3 either. It felt so out of the blue and out of character as you guys said. I think there were indications prior to that that he may have liked Willow and didn't realize it, but they waited too long to do anything about it.

Anyway, watched "Some Assembly Required" last night and I liked the XW scene toward the end of the episode when he asked her if it felt like they were playing musical chairs and everyone got a chair but them. Then Cordeila walks up trying to thank him for saving her life and he's like, "we're trying to have a conversation here." :rotfl:

Yeah, they were both so oblivious to the irony there :lol:
