Yeah, I think that helps too - plus, the show had to grow & change, there's no way it would have worked if they had tried to keep it in high school

I like S4 a lot too. I don't get how you could be a Willow fan and NOT like S4. She grows so much in that season. Her relationship with Oz ends, her relationship with Tara begins, she comes out of the closet, she grows more confident, her magical skills increase, etc. It's a transitional season for her. It's the bridge between the meeker, wallflower, high school girl (S1-S3) we loved and the confident, powerful, lesbian woman (S5-S7) we loved as well.

Agreed. I loved how the show wasn't afraid to experiment and change itself up throughout the years.

& I agree, s4 was great for Willow.....although it did also contribute to her downfall with magic I think s5 was when it started to get bad though.

I don't really take much stock in those articles. Aly hasn't done much since How I Met Your Mother, but I attribute that to just lack of interest. The show ran for nearly a decade, I could see her just deciding to take a break and focus more on her family because nine years is a long run. And it's not like she needs the money to keep on working.

Yeah, one of the most interesting things about re-watching the show is seeing the hints of Willow's magic abuse that steadily increase. In "Lovers Walk", she tries to cast the de-lusting spell on Xander without his consent. In "Wild at Heart", she tried to hex Veruca but didn't go through with it. And her line in "Something Blue" - "If I was a real witch, I could have made Oz stay with me".

I agree, I don't think they know what they're talking about. I also think that after HIMYM that she wanted to spend some more time with her family as well

& I agree about the second part too. I think Something Blue was the first time where it was problematic though, she wanted things they she wanted them so she turned to magic to do that. I think that the Lover's Walk spell would have been massively problematic too (& knowing Willow at the time, I think that it probably would have gone wrong & she should have known better), but she felt like it was a last resort. As time went on, it become her first instinct whenever there was a slight problem
