Not trying to turn this into a Buffy/Spike anti-piece, but I do have to agree. They really made the ship the focus of the show later on, and by the time they tried to bring stuff together at the end of the season, it really was just too late to do anything major with the remainder of the characters.
I believe she would be 16 there  She was 14 in Season 5__________________
