20th Anniversary Celebration #1: B/C The show has officially turned twenty!

Welcome to the 20th Anniversary Celebration of Buffy!

Twenty years ago today, the world was exposed to a new show, dubbed Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Adapted from the unsuccessful 1992 film of the same name, the show would go on to become a massive success, spawning a spin-off show, a plethora of books and comics, and a wide range of devotion amongst fans that still is present today.

In honor of the show, feel free to share memories, favorite moments, and anything else pertaining to the show here!

Each day for the next week, I will be posting a scrapbook page, with a possible discussion topic on it as well

It's blowing my mind it's been 20 years! Still one of my favorite shows of all time, I miss it but I'm glad it went off at it's peak.

Wow! Twenty years! It's hard to believe it's been that long! Buffy the Vampire Slayer is still my No.1 fandom!

Here's a link to Yahoo talking to Joss about the 20th Anniversary of Buffy:

Wow! It's nice to see that Fox has given some thought to Buffy's 20th Anniversary! It's all very exciting!

Here's one of the many news stories about the anniversary:

I know my boyfriend's favorite villain was The Mayor. Yep, he was evil and wanted to become a giant snake and eat everyone, but he could also turn around and just be the sweetest guy and manners, and just be real.

Willow was an interesting choice to become a villain. I have a vague memory of reading a spoilerish interview Josh gave about there being a surprise hero and a surprise villain for season six. Surprise hero = Xander, surprise villain = Willow. It's sad Tara had to die to make Willow a villain but the way her arc was crafted, I think it was heading down that path anyway. And I liked how she grew from the experience at the beginning of 7.

Happy 20th Anniversary everyone

I think out of all the villains, it's either Angelus or Dark!Willow that's my favorite

I'm torn on my favorite big bad. It's between the Mayor and Glory. The Mayor cause of his goofy personality while being evil (and even though it was twisted his father/daughter bond with Faith was nice sometimes) and Glory cause she was a GOD (I was shocked when that was first revealed. Like whaaaa????) and extremely powerful.

Angel was a good villain too. Angelus was seriously one sick vampire. The vampire the Council put Buffy against on her 18th birthday, he was an interesting case too.

Happy 20 years!!! I watched this series religiously from start till the end and it's one of the best series where woman empowerment was the focal point. I also watched Angel. I loved it so much too! I can't believe it's been 20 years, I also feel old.

Congratulations!
