Maybe it was while they were still in Pylea, a whole "at forst sight" thing. But that's just what I think. Probably he noticed her really when him and Cordelia took Fred to Caritas and she sang. During the ensuing battle with Gunn old gang, he never strayed very far from her side.

Also, when the gunfire started, Wesley made sure Fred was safe first before anyone else. That was a great Fresley moment. Or at least a partial "Don't Mess with Fred" moment. (see: Sluk demons, Angelus, Android Roger Wyndam-Pryce, Skip, Knox, etc.)

Fred really helps out, and Wesley notices. I mean before, she was crushing on Angel, so I don't think Wesley felt like he had a shot. But after Buffy's return, things settled, and Wes could contemplate a chance with Fred.

Too true, it's one the best stories from the Buffyverse, but in typical Joss fashion, it ended tragically.

Alexis Denisof and Amy Acker have a certain chemistry, Much Ado About Nothing was great, it also helped that I was thinking of Wes and Fred while I was watching. It was their happy ending.

Yes, that was unfortunate. It gave a certain depth to his character, as in "oooohhhhh, that's why he is doing what he is, because of Fred."

I'm convinced that he took Connor because Holtz threatened to attack the hotel (where Fred was) and she would've gotten hurt or killed. So Connor or Fred, and he chose Fred.
