Is there a Spike fan who likes Xander?
I'm a Xander fan who likes Spike. I have many Spike fans that are also Xander fans in other forums. However, I'm wondering about this forum. Spike fans who like Xander and Xander fans who like Spike, make yourselves visible!

Just wondering but are you saying that there's an association between being a Spike or Xander fan and not being a fan of the other?
I don't particularly care for Xander. I like him on some occasions. I love Spike though. He's my favorite character. __________________

Yeah I understand why that would be. I mean there are times where I do love Xander but there are times where I can't stand him. It's like a love/hate relationship with him.
 I just didn't like how he treated certain characters sometimes is all.  I won't say much more since this isn't an anti thread. I can understand why Spike fans might not like Xander but I don't get why Xander fans wouldn't like Spike unless they think just like Xander.__________________

It looks like it is a tendency, that fans who hate the majority of the characters, have Spike as their favorite. That is sad
Loving him doesnt need to make you dislike any of the others. Not for a longer period of time, anyhow |

But I don't hate the majority of characters. I hate Kennedy. But for the others the dislike comes and goes, even for Xander.

 I know you like most of them. I was talking about some other fans i have talked with. Just noticing the peculiar thing that all "hate most of them" fans love Spike. I think that is sad, bc i dont want my fave character to generate that much hate |

 Yeah I don't get why that would be. Why can't Spike fans like or love the rest of the characters? Maybe it has something to do with how the characters treated Spike? __________________

Yeah, probably. I guess such fans would very likely be SSS-writers?
We just got to see that the other characters actually had good reason to behave the way they did, and often even treated him better than he deserved Like the scene in Doomed, when Xander tips him over the edge to suicide, with his speech of how worthless and pathetic he is. I was first really pissed at him for that, but then I realized that Spike was indeed being a pretty obnoxious house guest, ordering Xander around, insulting him and threatening to "rip this place apart". So he needed to be taken down a few pegs. |

They might be but idk maybe the SSS writers also write that way because we had so much angst and dislike on the show that they want to tone it down in their fics.
Spike would have been an annoying house guest but at the same time everything that was happening to him was out of his hands. I would be acting up and smarting back too if I used to be the big bad and then was forced to live with somebody like Xander and wear his clothes. Giles didn't seem too annoyed with him, so maybe he just liked to push Xander's buttons.__________________

Yeah. I am guessing he sensed that Xander didnt like him, and that made him play up his big bad attitude all the more. And then completely break down when he realized that he couldnt intimidate him in the least

Well he must have intimidated him a bit because for a while Xander tied him to a chair when he went to sleep.
