Anyone want to discuss season 2?

My season 2 rewatch is starting tomorrow. As a a huge Buffy / Angel fan I naturally love this season. It is my second favourite season. Season 3 is my favourite season. A lot of people say season 2 is their favourite because of Angelus and the fact that "anyone could die". I never even thought of that. Especially not the first time around. I knew that secondary characters were always in danger but did anyone here ever truly believe that the Core Four or Cordy or Joyce or even Oz was ever in real danger from Angelus?

The Trial - Interesting that this reminded me of the trials that Spike went through to get his soul back at the end of S6 of Buffy but I like the motivation behind these trials so much more. It was really sad at the end how Darla was turned back into a vampire again.

Are You Now or Have You Ever Been - this episode reminded me of Tower of Terror

I couldn't wait to get to S2 to see Angel sing karaoke



2. Do you like Darla? Why or why not?

I never really liked Darla in Buffy probably b/c we never get to really see much of her but I really liked her in season 2 with her being brought back as a human by Wolfram and Hart

3. Did you like watching Angel descend further and further into darkness? Were the lines blurred between Angel and Angelus? What does this mean for Angel as a character? Is he really completely different person from Angelus?

I've always liked the whole Jekyll and Hyde concept in Buffy when it comes to Angel/Angelus but no I didn't like watching Angel without his friends. I feel like his split personalities were more defined in S1.

4. Did you like watching Wesley, Cordelia, and Gunn bond?

it was great to see them work together after Angel left and it was great to see Gunn helping Wesley after he got shot

6. Did Angel love Darla? Did Darla love Angel (with or without his soul), even as a vampire?

yes I do think they loved each other at one point but not anymore

7. What do you think of Lindsey's character progression? Is he really evil?

I felt like he was being manipulated/used by the law firm

but I did dislike him most of the time

I liked that he left the law firm and ended on good terms with Angel

8. Did you like the final season arc in Pylea?

Yes I loved it! it was so much fun and I liked the whole medieval setting and the idea of portals leading to other dimensions/worlds. Gru was a really sweet guy with what he said to Cordelia and love princess Cordelia!

I can't imagine having to wait a week between each of the episodes though when this was airing live especially with the cliffhangers. I think this might be the first 3/4 part season finale episode arc I've ever watched on a TV show.

Are You Now Or Have You Ever Been -> Loved the flashback how Angel lived in the hotel.
Guise Will Be Guise -> Hysterical Wesley who pretended to be Angel
Darla -> Great flashbackstory about her.


2. Do you like Darla? Why or why not?

Yes I liked her she was a very interesting character.

It was really interesting to watch. I always liked Angelus.

Very much yes.

5. Did Angel deserve forgiveness for abandoning the gang?

Mmh in the end yes.

6. Did Angel love Darla? Did Darla love Angel (with or without his soul), even as a vampire?

No I don`t think Angel loved Darla. Angelus wanted Darla but it was not love IMO. And Darla mmh I`m not sure if she loved him

7. What do you think of Lindsay's character progression? Is he really evil?

No I don`t think he´s really evil he was struggeling between good and evil that was interesting for me.

8. Did you like the final season arc in Pylea?

Sure it was fun to see for a little while how Lorne´s world looks like. Cordeloa as princess was really cool!

9. If you could change one thing about this season, what would it be and why?

I would have let Drusilla and Darla stay there for a little more episodes. It was sad that Drusilla just disappeared after Angel set her and Darla on fire.
