Yeah, it's hard to imagine computers looking like that even though I lived through it.

Watched Nightmares last night which ties into this conversation once again. Giles not being able to read reminds me of that Twilight episode where the last man on earth was finally alone to read just to have his glasses broken. I like that was only the tip of the iceburg on his nightmares though, his worst Nightmare was losing Buffy...failing her as a watcher.

That breaks my heart! I was looking at some scenes from The Witch the other day, & it was so clear in that ep how much he cared about her already. As a watcher, he must have been prepared for Buffy to have a short life, but after he met her, I think he couldn't stand the thought of it

Yeah, and you could definitely see that in Prophesy Girl when he tried to find something to contradict the prophesy of her death. He was so determined to protect her from it that he was willing to get himself killed. I had to laugh though when he told the gang that the purple bruise on his face was proof that he didn't let her do anything.

It was incredible and unexpected of how quick he developed a daddy-daughter connection with her in that season.

Yeah, I bet Giles before the pilot would have probably just said that that was Buffy's destiny & they all had to accept it (before he knew it would set the master free), but after knowing Buffy, he would have done anything to try & find a way to save her

^ For sure! Their relationship is actually one of my favorites in the series.

Watched WSWB last night and it was funny how Xander and Willow bet on how long it would take Giles to mention consulting his books. Also funny how he reacted to Snyder talking about the students as if they were locusts. "If you abhor the children, maybe this isn't the profession for you." Or something to that affect. Also funny how Snyder caught Giles eating lunch with the scoobies, he probably wondered why an adult would want to talk to teenagers.

I watched Dead Man´s Party last night on DVD and I loved Giles`s line: "Unbelievable. (mocks Joyce) 'Do you like my mask? Isn't it
pretty? It raises the *dead*!' Americans." His sarcastic tone was awesome during that

I do wonder what people outside our group thought when he'd be hanging out with the kids all the time, especially Buffy
