I was sad that he wasn`t in a lot of episodes of Season 6...I mean I know why he left but it was still sad.

Yeah, I understood his reasons for leaving cause he didn't want Buffy to be so dependent on him and for her to be an adult but it still sucks when he leaves in S6. You feel his absence so heavily that season. His return is epic though so that kind of makes up for it.
