I don't quite understand your negativity..... There is a good chance the show won't even be called 'Buffy'. Probably sonething like 'Slayer', I bet. It's not happening in the same timeline, and the only thing they want to revive is the Universe Joss created. That only makes sense, imo, when you consider how many successful shows there are, placed in the Marvel or DC-Universes. Honestly, I'd prefer a new show happening in the Slayer Universe. But most importantly: no one is trying to replace, or copy any of the old, existing characters. I don't quite see what gives people this impression. Anyways, I share Marsters' enthusiastic response. Too bad he can't come back....since, well. He's aged.

It makes sense to try & cash in on it being in the same universe.
I don't think it's gonna be anything I like sadly. Joss was heavily involved with the Comics & look how they turned out. I just wish they would leave Buffy alone. There is no orig. left in Hollywood. They are trying to bring back everything in the 90's that was a success. Charmed & Roswell remakes/reboots. KW talked about how they are in talks about a Dawson's Creek Reunion. I don't want Buffy & DC touched! __________________

All right negative Nancy
Don't watch it then and let the rest of us enjoy the new show. Quote:

Okay, this point I definitely get. Unfortunately, the people who own the rights to these universes will try and make as much money out of them as they can. We can only hope the result will be fun to watch. I remain confident. __________________

This is my opinion of it, negative or not.
It will either be good or bad. No in between. If it's good, so be it. It won't be as good as the original, and it shouldn't try to eclipse it, which is something I fear it will try to do. And while I get that the owners of the verses want money, it's just petty to keep rebooting stuff because they can't come up with anything else. __________________

I can't see an in between good & bad with this. I wish I could but just can't. Then have the Comics what a mess they mostly were looking back. __________________

Even if it's not a remake, just by using the term 'Slayer', it's invoking memories of the SMG show, so I think it's the same as the ROSWELL reboot: calling it 'Roswell: New Mexico' isn't going to change the fact that they're cashing in on people's interest of the shows from the 1990's. Obviously, they won't be these shows with these casts, so viewers who liked those shows will probably be disappointed. For those who are excited for this - good for you There aren't many shows which I actually like these days. HOMELAND is the only thing I'm interested in. Quote:

I guess there is another reason for this wave of reboots and remakes, not just creative stagnation. Instead, I think the advertisement indstry has switched from targeting (very) young people to older ones. The former don't watch TV anymore, and are lost to them. The latter are now the new target audience. ANd they (=we) are best targeted by providing us with more of the stuff we used to like. I really don't think it's a coincidence.

I won't be watching this because there won't be the original cast.

I'm sure David is going to continue to say no though. I think he's moved on

UPDATE: David has said he's fine with them recasting Angel. So he's definitely not wanting to be involved.
David Boreanaz gives the Buffy reboot, and possibly recasting Angel, his blessing | David Boreanaz gives the Buffy reboot, and possibly recasting Angel, his blessing __________________

“For now, I just let it be and lend my support from afar,” he said.
