If Buffy never met Angel, she would probably be dead because of Glory, or Adam... she wouldn't have gotten the strength she gets when Angelus comes.

Exactly Bekka, and if we are getting technical - the Master could of killed Buffy first off because Angel wouldn't have been able to lead Xander there fast enough, to save her.

Personally, I didn't like that scene between Angel and Cordelia. I felt like it was partly meant to be a Cangel scene. And I didn't buy her saying that she missed Buffy too since she probably hasn't said one word to Buffy since IWRY when she was bitching about her being there. If surviving while Buffy is gone means he is "honoring her" then what does it mean that he felt "lost" without Cordelia when she was in a coma?

Couldn't we go even further back and say that she might have died when The Three came after her? They had her cornered when Angel showed up. Who knows what might have happened. And then there's Darla, too. Who knows what would have happened between them if there was no Angel to both spur on their animosity and help Buffy eventually defeat her.

Yeahh, Angel was the best thing to ever happen to Buffy.

Angelus even says to Spike "She's stronger than any slayer you've ever faced" and thats partly because of Angel.
