I love that she could feel him without turning around. It's probably why the scene when their hands meet is my favourite part. It's simple but powerful.

It's interesting that the title for the episode has more to do with BA than anyone else.

Yeah

But as usually, it has meaning in so many ways. (gosh, I love the BTVS titles

) It was their broken "forever", then there was the funeral, also showing a loss that's gonna last forever. And then there was Dawn, who, just like Buffy did in that scene, tried to fight against, it, but ending up with having to chose between letting go forever (of her mother), or living with a monster. (which it was heavily indicated that Joyce had become)

So for me, that scene is the episode. Everything else is just TOO depressing.

We were discussing this on another BA thread but what's everyone's take on "love at first sight"? Angel said he saw Buffy and he loved her but I don't think he was in love with her until he actually got to know her.

I wouldn't say he was in love with her either, from just seeing her. I think he saw her, and felt this undeniable connection to her. He felt like he wanted to protect her, get to know her, and ultimately love her. I could say that he loved her in some way though, just because

I think there was an automatic connection (which wasn't sexual

) when he saw her at the school and then later when she was sad because of her parents fighting.

Just like in WTTH, she saw him and there was a connection too. But it wasn't an automatic "OMG we're in luuuuuuuuurrrrrrve" kind of thing. It built over time into true love.

I never thought that it was love at first sight, it was connection. And I think what was the best about their connection was that Angel didn't care, he just didn't about his life and the way he was living - until her. That is what made their connection uber special, because she was his reason.

I just watched the end of Season 3 (from the prom until he left Sunnydale) after a very looong time (almost 4/5 years!!) and OMG I cried like a baby!

Even though those episodes are heartbreaking, they are my favorites. I rewatch them all the time just because. And I cry my heart out every time. It just shows how beautiful, strong and tragic their love is. If they could be together, they would be

I think that Angel did fall in love with her... because he says he saw her heart and he wanted to protect it... it was more than love I say.

Exactly, courtneybangelcakes! And how could he not love her at that point? It was more than the fact that she saved him; she provided him with the means to save himself. In a more realistically related way, it would be like a teacher mentoring a troubled youth. If that teacher showed them they could be something more, they would always have a special spot for them in their hearts. Buffy just did this for Angel on a much grander scale, but I agree. I don't think he fell IN LOVE with her until after he got to know her, probably because I don't think someone can love somebody else that way without getting to know them first. While he might have been attracted to her, drawn to her innocence and vitality, that still does not equal being in love with someone. That's admiration and lust. Those feelings often lead to deeper, more meaningful emotions, but that takes time to develop... which is the case with Angel and Buffy.
