She was called (made?) by the Shadowmen, with their magic and demon dust. There was no higher powers implied there. And none needed. I feel that adding such a vague omnipotent force all the sudden cheapens the Buffy lore.

It was something he was ashamed of at the time. I think it has to do with the fact that he shunned humans for so long and was slowly becoming closer to them by watching (and watching out for) Buffy. I saw it as him losing control in that moment which caused his vampiric (and animal) nature to be revealed.

TPTB were higher beings, so I guess they can be called Gods. On ATS we find out that they were/are "good". But instead of staying and fighting the darkness they fled this realm to other dimnensions where they're worshipped while at the same time watching the BTVS/ATS dimension. They don't do much. I think it was more or less introduced because of the shanshu/Champion

The Shadowmen differ because they created a being that was like a vampire (human and demon hybrid) and manipulated her lifeline so that when the original slayer died another was called.

I honestly find both to be horrible. TPTB gives the ATS team hope but they're mostly useless unless like Jasmine they bring about world peace at the expense of human will. While the Shadowmen/Watchers reap the benefits of saving the world at the expense of these innocent young girls that barely live past 18. Neither side gets paid! This is another reason that I don't truly fault the ATS team for charging customers, Buffy couldn't have done it because she was more or less freelance and incognito but if she went into the demon slaying business to pay for her house and ammenities than I wouldn't have been upset.

I agree Angela. Angel needed a reason to live and to fight the good fight away from Buffy. Love is great and all but it's kinda pathetic if that's all you live for. Who are you and what is your purpose? Angel had a purpose and friends on ATS but I love that if need be, he could go back to SD and have people there

And thats why I love them so much.

If Angel had stayed, I don't think he ever would have found his own purpose, and I think it would have cheapened BA.

I had no problem with the ATS team charging, demon hunting was their life, and people need money to exist in this world.

I would have rather seen that happen on Buffy then watch her sling burgers.

That was so painful and heartbreaking to watch Buffy have to do something so mundane and beneath her, because she's the slayer and it took away all of her other options of a real career.

Angel was definitely no trying to tell her he was a vampire. As soon as he realized that he was vamped out he tried to hide his face and change back before she saw.

I think you are right about the passion of the moment awakening the beast in him. It was probably already close to the surface since he probably didn't feed before "stalking" her at the Bronze and then he spent the night at her place and now it was the next night and he still didn't feed.

Since it was the spirit of a demon inside of each Slayer (alongside the soul-spirit of the girl) do you think that it was like the demon spirit was being reincarnated (much like the Dali Lama) every time the Slayer died and immediately entered the body of a new girl and that is how she became the Slayer and could tap into the collective memories of all the Slayers before her?

I have no faith in that he tried to tell her that way either. It would have been brutally unsensitive, and contrary to his deep shame of being a vampire. We dont know that he went without food for many days though. Whistler had taken him to the butchers shop by now, and he probably had at least some cast offs (since he probably couldnt afford the fresh stuff

Cant imagine where he'd get money anyhow

I think your slayer theory is a good one, except that they didnt have each other's memories. That was what the watchers diaries were for

Some Slayers (Buffy, Dana from Damage) have dreams of the past Slayer's lives. And in the comics Buffy says in her thoughts, "I've dreamed every battle a Slayer has ever fought". And the fact that some Slayers have disturbing dreams about women warriors in different eras and countries battling demons was referenced in an Andrew/Vi PSA in the comics to try to help get Slayers to understand that they are Slayers and join SOS.
