Exactly! With all of the magic being used carelessly, they should have been able to secure his soul

But of course that would have been too easy.

I think it was what caused other problems in their relationship. The curse was both a curse and a blessing. It was a curse for Angelus but it brought Angel (Liam) love and friendship. And a purpose.

The curse is the only thing that kept them apart. I'm kind of glad they never had Angel soul bound because they wouldn't have been able to be together (two series to run) even though they so would have been. It would have looked like they no longer wanted each other because nothing would have been able to keep them apart.

I've always said, how could they give Spike a soul so easily and yet not be able to bind Angel's? I think Joss did it on purpose because he knew they couldn't physically be together and that they belong together. Like how Spike never fed from Buffy because that is a B/A thing. Certain things weren't touched for a reason.
