No idea if they are endgame or not in the books - I'm pretty sure they are still going on. Like the author stopped, and then started up again or something. Apparently Elena becomes a vampire at the end of the first set of books? And concerning the show, I don't think there is any established endgame yet - the writers know that most love DE, and it's CLEAR that they are writing them heavily this season and building them MAJORLY.

In regards to the books SE are the main couple - if i remember correctly DE happened in the third book? and she became a vamp in book 2 i think lol or maybe it was book 3 was so long ago

And i think they are setting up DE but it happened like that in the books too where elena was with stefan then she was with Damon then she went back to Stefan so i wouldnt be surprised if it went that way in the show too All MO of course Because in the books when she was 'with' Damon it was established she still loved Stefan too. but who knows they might change the love story completely in the show but with how theyre writing stefan/elena i dont think they would.

My theory is theyre going to explore Stefan/Katherine and Damon/Elena at the same time but Im probably wrong

I wouldn't mind seeing Stefan with Katherine Don't judge me I think the show will end with Stefan/Elena or with Elena dying and Stefan/Damon finally being being besties.

Yeah I think she will too, and it will be some major cliffhanger or something And I DEFINITELY think one of the boys will turn her.

I think since the writers know that pretty much everyone ships DE, even if they were thinking SE as endgame - they'll have to rethink it in some way, shape or form. Maybe DE wont be endgame, but theyll get something great in return.

I think regardless of whether DE are together or not - they'll have an incredible story. We've seen that. It's all about the story with them.

Last night's ep OMFG this show is killing me

SE but i love the circumstances of how they broke up - not cuz they wanted to. so i am in no way suicidal after that

I don't think DE have more shippers, I just think the shippers are much more vocal than SE shippers Like in the BTVS fandom. I'm not so convinced with the DE story, like why do they have to have scenes after SE most of the time? It feels so contrived to see such an emotional SE scene than watch two seconds of DE just for the sake of having it. I thought that SE should have been the last to be seen because this was their episode. PJ felt wayyyy more organic in comparison.

Hopefully that'll change.
