It just seemed so beneath btvs too. I mean, it's not a show about relationship drama & it didn't advance any plots or even really off Willow & Xander closure so they could both move on - it just kinda ended. I wonder if the network wanted more romantic entanglements or something

Yeah, like I said once that Xander/Willow thing was done, the show did get back into the rhythm. The high school relationship drama of it all was just so out of tune with the rest of the show, but with Willow & Oz back together & moving past it, it felt back to normal again

I wonder if the writers maybe did it to see if they could possibly incorporate it into the show, but once they saw it wasn't working, they fixed it

Yes I've wondered that too, I think they'd see quite quickly that it really wasn't working.

Yeah, it didn't really last all that long tbh, it was what, 4 episodes? But still, considering if was such a short thing, it messed up a lot.

Thank goodness it got fixed because I just wasn't felling Willow and Xander as a pairing. Season 1-3, I never rooted for them at any point. lol
