There are other times he helped but it was then the most.

It went both ways.

I will forever love Spike was there for many of the most important moments in Buffy's life.

Spike actually out of all her love interests was there the most of all of them.

Spike was also a constant in Buffy's life for years in some form.

I can only imagine how hard losing him for just that reason would be for her.

The irony of the one guy she didn't want to stick around (in the early years at least, we know by S7 she was fully admitting to wanting/needing him there) being the only one who never left.

I think eventually Buffy secretly didn't really want him gone.

I think she talked a big game but by Season 5 he was a constant person in her life even if it was that he annoyed her.

I don't think after being tortured by Glory & not telling her about Dawn she wanted him gone.

We know Buffy for sure deep down Season 6 didn't want him dust.

She saved him twice in TR from being staked. The second time without her memory.

Then of course she saved him from Xander later from killing him after seeing Spike/Anya together.

Buffy couldn't get there fast enough to stop him.

If only it was for more than a year.

We have to take what we can get though.

There will be a year long campaign.

I think power of the Spuffy fandom can keep it online.

This is the first huge campaign.

There have been a few smaller ones.

That's pretty amazing that Spuffy fans are still banding together and so active/passionate about their ship even a decade+ later.

I think Spuffy fandom is more active than most ship fandoms with shows still on air.

The fact that $1 dollar from every lurker can keep the site up is amazing too.

It shows how active this Spuffy fic archive is in general.

It's not even the one that is updated with stories every day anymore.

You can still post recent ones though. It's probably better that there aren't as much since it already cost so much to maintain b/c of the big server.

EF has taken over & is the second largest Spuffy fic archive.
