Buffy and Angel - What do you think were some of most intense moments on ATS

I thought I post this thread, while rewatching S3 of ATS and episode Forgiving particular the end where Angel is trying to kill Wesley is so intense that I'm truly shocked everytime I see it.

So I thought I'd post this thread to see what you think are some most intense moments on Angel.

Another one for me is were Wesley in Release on S4 is trying to get information from the drug girl and he puts a stake in her shoulder blade then Faith is saying "what the hell are you doing" then Wesley screams at her. I mean that Wes boy he's just as scary as Angel sometimes.

Yeah, Angel trying to kill Wes definitely stands out.

For me, Connor being pulled between Evil Cordy and Good Darla in Inside Out also comes to mind. Oh, and the scene where Wesley has to decapitate Lilah in Salvage was pretty intense as well.

That scene from Forgiving gives me chills. It was so intense...

ANGEL
You took my son. YOU TOOK MY SON!
Male nurse goes flying. Angel is back on Wes in a flash. A NEW ORDERLY comes tearing in; again they get Angel dragging towards the door.

ANGEL (cont'd)
I'll never forgive you, never... I'LL KILL YOU!!
Gunn and the Orderlies drag Angel out of the room. Fred is screaming and crying. We HEAR terrible commotion outside and Angel screaming:

You're a dead man. YOU HEAR ME!! DEAD!

Yep, that scene really chills me to the bone. In that scene also when Angel is killing Wesley with the pillow you can hear the monitor go for normal to deathly code blue. ALso its Boreanaz full passion and grief as he yells at Alexis is just to chilling.

Another intense moment I've found on ATS is on S4 of episode Inside Out when the moment just before Cordy kills the virgin she turns into Darla for a brief second then when Evil Cordy kills her is just so

that I have to shut my eyes at that scene.

Yeah that scene from Forgiving was really intense. I was shocked when I saw it.

Your telling me. It just was so unexpected that I just jump out of my seat everytime I seem it. Especially the fury in Boreanaz voice just so intense.

Amazing acting in that scene. DB really convinced me, and I hated Angel SO much at that point

Plus, Wes' throat being slit... Jeez, that was intense. Plus I felt so bad for him, he was just trying to do the right thing

Yes!!

But that's my point, ok it sounds bad and of course it WAS bad, but if Angel had stopped for even a split second to think about the fact that this is Wes we're talking about here, who'd never do anything to hurt anyone intentionally, then he'd see he was trying to do what he thought was best for Angel and for Connor.

Did it work? Of course it didn't. But Wes can't be hated for that. At least not in my opinion

But he should. He did something that's wrong on every continent and demon dimension, he lied, he attacked Lorne and if he'd for one second confided in his friends about his suspicions than he'd see that this is Angel and Angel would have never hurt Conner intentionally.

This isn't exactly the first time that Wes and translations didn't exactly equal to the right answer.

I think Angel was the one who should be allowed to be irrational. It's his son, probably the only son he'll ever have. Any parent would do the same thing.

Wes acted the way he did because he panicked. The whole episode (and the episodes prior) show him panicking on a level he never had before. He feared for Angel's son's life and for Angel. He made a terrible mistake, but the fact that Angel says "we're ok again" the following season just proved to me that Angel knew he was in the wrong for attacking Wesley. It was like his way of saying "we've both screwed up, now we're even." Wesley attacking Lorne was definitely wrong, but it was all in the heat of the moment. He and Angel go to very dark places around that time and it's all to do with the same situation.

Wes panicked and made the wrong choices, I personally felt that Angel was the bigger man in the end because he dealt with Conner and what'd he become without pointing fingers or blame Wes's way.

Attacking Wes made more sense than Wes stealing Conner and giving him to Holtz.

Let's agree to disagree on this one

The way I saw it, Angel attacking Wesley was worse because Angel had the time to think it through, and he still went through with it. Wesley thought through the whole Connor/Holtz thing but he was running out of time before he actually did it. Angel had a choice to almost kill his friend; Wesley also had a choice to give up Angel's son but I think the reason was more justified.

I can understand why you think Angel was more justified, Ash, I just disagree.
I think I felt more sorry for Wes also, because he felt so alone in the whole thing. He wanted to tell someone but figured he could deal with it, when in fact, he couldn't.
