Reasons We Love Doyle & Cordelia
Because Doyle thought she was a humanising influence
Because Doyle didn't comment on her lack of geography knowledge
Because he wasn't at all offended that she attacked him with a silver tray
Because Cordelia tried to fix his collar
Because Doyle got jealous over her & Spike's constant complimenting each other
Because even though Cordelia threatened to hit Doyle in the head to help him get more visions and so AI more money - she didn't
Because she didn't complain about geeking over Demon lit with Doyle
Because Angel saw their couple-y position whilst they were sleeping together and had to slam the door.
Because Cordelia thought Doyle had substance
Because Cordelia saw the 'depths' in Doyle
Because even though Doyle 'celebrates the opening of the mailbox with a drink' she usually joins him
Because she finds drunk Doyle hilarious
Because she conveniently keeps hangover pills in the office
Because when Cordelia found out that Doyle was capable of great passion - it surprised her and she liked it
Because they understand each other with one glance
Because Cordelia couldn't stand it if Doyle was upset. She'd insult him but then cheer him up
Because C&D were constantly mothering Angel
Because she called Doyle first when she didn't have anywhere else to go
Because she never forgot him
Because Doyle saw she would change the world
Because Cordelia & Doyle can see right through each other
Because he stopped feeling ashamed of being a half-demon eventually
Because her smile in 'Hero' said all

1x02 Lonely Hearts
DOYLE: Here's another one. Piasca. It's a flesh-eating Indian demon that enters victims through the mouth and eviscerates from within. You're going to put that one down?
CORDELIA: Yeah. Ugh, demons. Is there anything more disgusting?
DOYLE: You think so?
CORDELIA: Come on. Okay, look at this one. This demon wears a wreath of intestines around its head. I mean honestly, what kind of a statement is this thing trying to make with that?
DOYLE: Yeah, you know, I mean, it really depends, doesn't it? I mean some demons could actually be nice, given the opportunity. I think, you'd have to get to know them, yeah?
CORDELIA: I've met a lot of demons, and slime aside, not a whole lot going on there.

(Doyle and Cordelia walk into her apartment carrying a stack of old books. The place is a mess.)

DOYLE: Wow, this is...place is...I thought girls are supposed to like pretty things.
CORDELIA: Uh. Don't start okay? Angel told us to meet here, so we're meeting here. That doesn't mean that you can...
(Doyle picks up a bra and holds it up to his chest.)
CORDELIA: That is so high school! Cordelia wears bras. Oh, she has girlie parts!
DOYLE: Take it easy. You're being a tad defensive here. I think it's refreshing seeing a woman living like this. You know, it means you're not so up-tight. Means you live for the moment.
(He steps into a dirty cereal bowl sitting on the floor as a knock sounds.)
DOYLE: You're disgusting. <--->

1x03 In the Dark
CORDELIA: Drat!
DOYLE: What?
CORDELIA: It?s not in the freezer and it?s not in the toilet tank. In the movies it?s always in one of those places.
DOYLE: It?s not here.
CORDELIA: Well, we?ve looked everywhere.
DOYLE: Except...
CORDELIA: The rat infested sewer tunnels he uses to get around in the daytime.
(The sewers.)
CORDELIA: This is not a needle in a haystack, this is a needle in Kansas.
DOYLE: Yeah, I know, you?re right. We just gotta keep looking.
(Doyle lets Cordelia get a ways ahead of him. Then his face turns green, and blue spikes pop out all over his face. He sniffs the air, then his face returns to normal, and he walks over to where Angel hid the ring and picks it up.)
DOYLE: Here!
CORDELIA: How did you do that?
DOYLE: Hey, you gotta get lucky sometimes.
CORDELIA: I could hug you! (Doyle spreads out his arms) Not that lucky. Now, come on we?ve got save Angel!
DOYLE: Right, by giving Spike exactly what he wants so he can kill us.
CORDELIA: Right! No. We need a plan. <--->

1x04 I Fall To Pieces
DOYLE: Well, that didn't go so badly.
CORDELIA: See, you can save damsel and make decent money. Is this a great country or what?!
DOYLE: Let?s march down to the bank right now and deposit this beauty.
ANGEL: You guys go on. I think I?ll stay here and *not* burst into flames.
DOYLE: Oh, right, you're pretty much the night deposit guy. Well..still... cause to celebrate!
CORDELIA: You think everything?s a cause to celebrate. We need more of these.
DOYLE: And we?ll have more soon enough.
CORDELIA: Well we need them now. Have a vision.
DOYLE: I just can?t perform on demand.
CORDELIA: We need the clients. Have a vision.
DOYLE: That money has corrupted you.
CORDELIA: If I hit you on the head, will you have a vision?
DOYLE: Get away from me. You're insane.
CORDELIA: Am not. Now will you have a vision? <-->

1x05 Rm w/a Vu
DOYLE: I wish you'd just let me call my guy.
CORDELIA: I’m not getting an apartment through “some guy”. He probably judges the property value on how far the bus ride is to the track.
DOYLE: Well, it can’t get any worse then this, can it?
CORDELIA: You can’t tell anything from the hallway.
DOYLE: Hey, you’re right. You know what I smell in here? Potential.
CORDELIA: The next one'll be better.
(…later…)
GUY: It’s like a community, you know? We share all the upkeep and chores.
CORDELIA: (to Doyle) Oh, my urination just hasn’t been public enough lately.
GUY: Oh, we don’t believe in barriers. It’s the first rule of the great leader. Ah, you can come to the meetings if you want. Every morning at 5:00.
CORDELIA: Okay, that’s just a touch too early for me.
GUY: Oh, you’ll be up. The Chanting starts at 4:00.
(…later…)
BIG GUY: So, you’re a single gal – gonna be living here alone? Because I’m right across the hall and you can sleep easy knowing that I’m the only other soul in the world with a key to that door. You think about that while you look, okay?
CORDELIA: (to Doyle) Okay, just out of curiosity, you said you know a guy?
DOYLE: Finally. What is it with you and Angel? You gotta do everything the hard way.
(…later…)
CORDELIA: Oh, my gosh. Have you ever seen anything so beautiful?
DOYLE: No, never.
CORDELIA: It’s perfect! Really, really, it’s just – perfect. It’s amazing in there. (To Lady) What’s wrong with it?
LADY: There’s nothing wrong with it. The previous tenant just broke their lease last week. I don’t know how you even heard about it. It’s quite a bargain, and the furniture comes with. Do you think you want it?
CORDELIA: I – I used to have this. I – I was…
LADY: I guess it’s your lucky day.
CORDELIA: I used to have those, too.
DOYLE: She’ll take it.
LADY: I’ll fill out the rental forms. (exits)
CORDELIA: First thing I hire someone to take out that wall.
DOYLE: I though you said it was perfect.
CORDELIA: Yes, and part of being perfect is that there being one tiny flaw for me to fix.
DOYLE: Ah, must be why you find me so fascinating.
CORDELIA: Oh my gosh, I love my apartment. Your guy found the perfect place. (Hugs Doyle) I love your guy!
DOYLE: Yeah, well, it’s a pretty good day’s work for us, I think. I take care of your problem; Angel takes care of mine. All in all, things are pretty sweet.
CORDELIA: Yes! I can move right in. <--->

1x7 Bachelor Party
(Cordelia and Pierce scream. Topknot grabs Cordelia. Pierce jumps into car and burns rubber.)
CORDELIA: Help!
DOYLE: Hey! I'm the one you followed here. It's me you want.
TOPKNOT: Stay close. You'll get your turn.
DOYLE: (to Cordelia) Are you okay?
CORDELIA: I'm fine. That was... You were so - brave.
DOYLE: You think you could say that again without so much shock in your voice? You're stepping on my moment of manliness here.
CORDELIA: I'm sorry. I'm just...
DOYLE: Surprised?
CORDELIA: Grateful.
(…later…)
DOYLE: I'm the one you followed. It's me that you want, huh? Fangs for the memories, vamp man! Hey I was just.. That wasn't..
CORDELIA: An incredible spaz attack? Good.
DOYLE: So you were... What can I do for you?
CORDELIA: Well, ahm, - I was thinking - that, ah - maybe I haven't been - entirely fair to you. Maybe you don't actually have *zero* potential.
DOYLE: Wow, Cordelia. Thanks.
CORDELIA: That's not.. (sighs) What I'm trying to say is that I really appreciate what you did last night. And, uhm, - I was thinking - maybe we could... <--->

CORDELIA: You can't live in the past. You got to move on. Let it go. Forget it. Tomorrow is another day. Did I mention letting it go?
DOYLE: Twice.
CORDELIA: You'll get through this, Doyle. Nice guys don't always finish last.

CORDELIA: I think it, I say it. That's my way.
DOYLE: Thanks.
