Exactly! Long-time fans picked up on that moment right away. It helped us remember where these characters started and how far they had come by the end of the series. It was a nice nod to the characters and audience. It's like even though they were all different people at the end, that friendship was always at the core of who they were and they never lost that friendship--despite the rough patches.

Probably in Giles' apartment in Dead Man's Party when the gang are all chatting and he goes to the kitchen to make tea, and he has that private moment where he can't hide his happiness and relief at everyone being reunited. Or in The Body when Tara and Anya step back to let Willow and Xander have their moment, recognizing that what's happened affects them almost as much as it does Buffy, I just thought it was a nice nod to the original Scooby bonds.

I'm sure there are more, but those are the first that come to mind.

Mine would have to be, among other moments, that one at the end of WSWB. I love that scene, it's so cute and heartfelt. Buffy is all insecure and afraid she's ruined their friendship or something and Willow and Xander just make small talk, like nothing's happened, until Xander jokes about what happened to the Master the night before and they share a look and a smile. Without words they tell her that everything is okay.

That's a great choice too, I didn't even think of that. I love the ending scene of Prophecy Girl too.

Earlier seasons were great for their friendship. But (parts of) season 4 and s5 were pretty strong as well. It was only the last two seasons that lacked in that aspect imo.

Yeah s7 in particular was a huge let down, as far as the Buffy/Xander/Willow friendship goes. Xander/Buffy still seemed pretty close though, we just didn't get much with the three of them together.
