The Angel panel was fun and we won’t ever hear the end of her dislike of season 4 and how she got blindsided with being killed off. I felt bad for her but I enjoyed hearing her speak especially when she talked about her character progress on Buffy since she wasn’t a fan of her own character at first.

Yeah it’s something she ain’t ever getting over with, as well as she shouldn’t. For someone to make her feel terrible for getting pregnant is just so cruel. And than to put the cherry on too, JW lied to her about Cordy dying in the 100th episode just to get CC to sign back on... that’s messed up. She also just retweeted an article about someone talking about how the women of Angel deserves better. love her not backing down for how she felt.

I was just going to post about that article. To be honest, I never followed what was happening behind the scenes of Buffy and Angel. But I would be salty too.

Yeah what JW did to her was so ****ed up. I'm also still pissed off that Charisma wasn't even their first choice for that episode.

JW made her sort of feel shamed during what was suppose to be the best time of her life.


When it come to the Angel show, I know a lot of it. lol When a lot of shows no but with Angel it was pretty difficult to run away from it since it consistently gets discussed.

That article is really interesting, I never thought about how the same kind of thing happened to three major female characters on the show, but it did. Also, what happened to Cordy was largely to give Angel angst, & when they killed off Fred it was give a lot of the male characters angst too. The development of the male characters came before the female characters imo. Although I don't fully agree with it, because for me, I've always had a very clear distinction between Cordelia, & Cordelia when she was possessed. Not to say her character wasn't done dirty, because she really was, but she didn't choose to betray Angel & the others, sleep with Connor, or kill anybody. That wasn't Cordelia, simple as.

& it sucks that things went so bad for her offscreen on s4, I still don't get why JW would have such a problem with it. There are thousands of ways he could have orchestrated a pergnant Cordelia storyline, or they could have just covered it up & redued her role on the show for a little while. Good writers deal with hurdles like that & use them in a productive way.
