| Graphics Team Manager   | I have a cool thing to post now... I was waiting for the new thread! I DIDN'T DO THIS IS WAS ashlee_999!!! We all know how Spike drops to his knees when he has something important to convey. We know that Buffy can't maintain eye contact when Spike gets a little too serious for her. But has anyone ever noticed how much focus was put on their hands? This has been something I've been thinking about for quite a while. Something Blue To my knowledge (and I don't understand when they would have before, but) this is when they hold hands for the first time. At several points throughout the episode they hold hands- the pics I have below, walking through the halls of the dorm, Buffy dragging him through the cemetery. It's all very superficial (because duh, they're under a spell) but look how sweet it is, his hand caressing hers.   Fool For Love I would have used a better cap for this, but apparently it doesn't exist (I looked). But it does exist in the show. When Spike grabs her wrist to prevent her from reaching for her weapon, it's a fake show of power, since he couldn't actually stop her from moving, if she really wanted to, but it is noteworthy to see that Buffy does stop when she feels his hand on hers.  Listening to Fear Aside from the kiss in Intervention this is probably the most significant Spike/Buffy moment in season 5. Buffy, our little Slayer, the one who doesn't easily accept help from people outside of her circle of Scoobies, actually consents to Spike helping her off the floor of all things. Something that Buffy could easily do by herself, and yet, she accepts assistance from the one person she 'hates' the most.  Spiral Buffy doesn't show much concern in what Spike did for her, but she does take the time to check on him- another stepping stone for her. Obviously her concern is for Giles, who was injured far worse than Spike, but it says a lot that she takes (even a little bit of) time to make sure Spike isn't more seriously injured.   After Life One of the most tender gestures in the series. Buffy tends to shy away from everyone, but doesn't flinch when Spike takes her hands in his. She actually seems to take a moderate amount of comfort in it and relax in his presence. Showing the complete opposite reaction when her friends storm in moments later.   Once More, With Feeling The wonderful spikeylover pointed out to me that I forgot about this moment. In Once More, With Feeling Spike and Buffy's hands are the only ones who actually have their hands entwined in the song. Subliminal message? Foreshadowing?  Dead Things Yes, part of a dream sequence, but it does focus on their hands. It shows just how much she wants to trust Spike and maybe how much she wants Spike to be able to trust her in return.  And I almost forgot the moment in this show where Spike and Buffy can feel each other through the door. One of the most powerful moments in the season- the realization that they are complete when they're together. Well, Spike always knew that ;-)   Potential I think this is where it really kicked Buffy in the gut- “I love this man.” I believe that she subconsciously knew it before then (more than likely around The Gift, in my opinion) but I think it really hit her in that moment. She was genuinely concerned for him, even after Spike insisted that he was okay. She was determined to check on him and the moment is one of the most tender and touching in the series.  First Date I couldn't find a cap that showed what I wanted to, but if you've seen the show, you know it's there (and if you look really close, you can see them holding hands). The moment when Buffy checks on Spike, before she checks on her bleeding friend who had just been practically tortured. Looking at it from that perspective, you almost feel sorry for Xander, but let's face it- she was more worried about Spike, who'd just been knocked around a little ;-)  Touched One of my personal favorite moments ever! And as I've stated before, if you haven't seen it, make sure you rewatch this show today. In the moment (in the cap below) you can see Buffy's thumb move back and forth over Spike's hand. One of the sweetest moments, in my opinion and it was unscripted, so I like to let my mind wander on that thought ;-)   Chosen (1) Buffy picking her champion. One of the most poignant moments in the series. She didn't pick Angel, she didn't wear it herself, she didn't give it to Faith- she gave it to Spike. The man she loved- the man who had proved himself to her on more than one occasion. The gentle way she hands it to him, the hesitant (but sure) acceptance and the looks of pride and love. You have to love this scene.  Chosen (2) And the most significant of all moments. The moment that made me realize just how much focus is put on their hands. Maybe all of those scenes were leading up to this one (we all know that Joss likes to plan in advance). The ultimate symbol of devotion, loyalty, dedication, affection, and love. | There's a cut scene from Potential where Buffy starts to go back in after the girls after she locked them in the crypt. She places her hand on the knob and Spike places his over hers to stop her from entering, giving hjs support that she's making the right decision. | |||

| Well, they don't just cut one thing out. That little scene would be about 10 seconds, but add that to about 10 other little things that got snipped or shorted and you've got almost two minutes. That's two pages of dialogue or an action sequence or whatever. Buffy had a funny joke in Dead Things that got cut out, too. Well, I thought it was funny.  It happened all throughout the series. | |||

I was watching the cut scenes on my Ice Princess dvd today (yes I know I'm obsessed) and there was a hillarious joke where a little girl with a costume runs up to Michelle's character and says 'Guess what i am?" and Michelle's character replies "a little snake?' and it was hillarious... the girl was actually going to be a lily...
