Episode Descriptions - WARNING - a little more spoilery than the trailer
From the WB VAMPIRES ABOARD A GERMAN U-BOAT – Lawson (guest star Eyal Podell, “Behind Enemy Lines”), a mysterious man from Angel’s (David Boreanaz) past, arrives at Wolfram & Hart and takes the gang hostage. Through flashbacks to World War II, it is revealed that Angel worked with the U.S. Navy to recover a captured German submarine with American sailors on board. The ship also has a secret cargo, a dangerous trio of vampires, including Spike (James Marsters), who were kidnapped by the Germans and forced to help the Nazis. When the sub comes under attack, Angel saves Lawson’s life by turning him into a vampire. Now, sixty years later, Lawson has arrived at Wolfram & Hart seeking revenge. From TV Guide: When a face from his past shows up at Wolfram & Hart, flashbacks reveal Angel's role in salvaging a damaged WWII sub carrying crucial technology---and vampire prisoners. But Angel's visitor doesn't want to reminisce; he's looking to settle an old score. Lawson: Eyal Podell. Hodge: Matt Goodwin. Spinelli: Nick Spano. |

So Spike was forced to help the Nazi's? Should be interesting.

Sounds kind X-Files like, and fun!

Have any of you seen it already? If so, do they mention Cordy? |

I doubt they will verbally, but I think to not at least have a slight moment of silence at an old item of hers or some acknowledgment would be an injustice.
While it is early in the show, I wonder if this episode will give us a somewhat early version or origin of the Initiative? [ 02-11-2004: Message edited James Gimli ] __________________

A great stand alone epi. IMO, but not much to add either.
Next week's ep. has me concerned. It will either be more serious than it looks, or a sign that the show will start resorting to goofball humor more than it should. That said, I hope to see Angel on Crank Yankers soon! __________________

Good episode.
They should have called this "Das Return to Castle Wolfenstien's Boot" (RTCW is a video game about Nazi's using the Occult to raise an army of demons and of course, "Das Boot" is the famous German submarine film by Wolf Gang Peterson). The only part I didn't like was the fact that Lawson waited for 60 years to come get Angel. If he had been following Angel's life since the war, he could have easily taken him out when Angel was eating rats in the sewers before he met Doyle, Buffy and Whistler. I did think this part of his motivation was a little weak, but other than that it was a great, "fun" type episode that ALSO deals with the themes of this season about purpose and not losing sight of the (overall) mission and becoming the very thing you are fighting against. |

Good eppisode. It was cool with the flashbacks, I wish that they did that more often. Bit concerned about next weeks eppisode. Although I bet Spike would make a hot puppet!

While I doubt it would work, I would be all for a puppet episode of Angel. I wonder if Harmony will get an anatomically endowed puppet if she's changed?

I'm sorry, I disagree with everyone here. This episode was boring. It just didn't draw my attention.
It happened so fast... |

Hmm, okay episode. Kinda boring, but I couldn't help but really feel for Lawson.
Spike's hair looked... bad. The color was okay, but it was too thin or short or something. And my only complaint? Why the freakin' hell was Cordelia not mentioned?! __________________
