They tried to keep him there but without The Initiative there wasn't anything for him. He had Buffy, but he really didn't have her by then and he knew it. I doubt they planned for him to stay the whole season. They probably knew like 4 episodes in that it was time for him to go. __________________ Isn't anyone going to ask 'What's with the mistletoe?' Buffy didn't need him in season 5. Their relationship had dwindled to him loving her and her liking him. ![]() __________________ Isn't anyone going to ask 'What's with the mistletoe?' I mean Andrew had more of a storyline. ![]() __________________ Isn't anyone going to ask 'What's with the mistletoe?' DR|SB|RN|JM|JR|RM ~Ash ♥MJ|AH|JG|BM|DE|TJ

I think he was mostly there, especially in S 5 to show that an ordinary man couldnt easily satisfy Buffy, That she needs a little monster in her man![]() __________________ thoughts running through my head and I feel that love is dead I'm loving angels instead All I want for Christmas is you Icon by: unknown

| ![]() I think the only 'ordinary' guy who could really work in amongst the dynamic of the scoobies was Xander. I think although Riley wasn't meant to stay forever, they could have done more with him. I don't think they wanted Buffy to end up with an 'ordinary' guy, either. __________________ Angel: I love you. Buffy: I love you. Angel: Nothing can change that. Not even death. | |||

Riley was supposed to that guy but he ended up being more Captain America than anything else ![]() Riley was a wholesome, hometown farm boy. And that was different and new for her... __________________

In Doomed she said that Riley's normal but doesn't a good relationship come from passion and fire and pain. The only time I saw the passion with Biley was when they were trapped in his room having sex all day/night. I mean I thought they were cute but not passionate or fiery.__________________ Isn't anyone going to ask 'What's with the mistletoe?' DR|SB|RN|JM|JR|RM ~Ash ♥MJ|AH|JG|BM|DE|TJ

Even in that episode with the constant sex...it appeared really forced. I think Buffy/Riley is a nice middle school/high school relationship. You know the guy you loved before you really discovered love? It just happened during her rebound time frame. __________________
