This is my favorite Angel ep.

Here's my Frangel centric review:

Angel is impressed that Fred has learned some survival skills from
him but is confidant that he'll get her.
Angel says that Fred gets to live till they find out why she rejected
Jasmine's love.
Then he says that they have to find her so Jasmine can straighten her
out.
Angel and Connor track Fred.
Angel asks if Fred got away.
Jasmine comes in with Angel and Connor.
Fred apologizes to Angel, hoping he can forgive her.
She shoots Jasmine and the bullet pierces Angel's shoulder.
Angel vamps out and grabs Fred, pulling her out from behind the
counter and pinning her down on it. He takes the gun from her and
holds it to her neck reminding her that bullets don't kill him but he
can show her what they do to her. (There's something about his hand
on her shoulder and the way he says this that is so sexy!)
Fred tells him to look at Jasmine.
She again apologizes saying that she had to show him.
Jasmine says that Angel is as dead to them as Fred.
Angel tries to go to Fred after Connor throws her over the counter.
Connor throws Angel behind the counter with Fred.
Angel gathers up Fred and carries her out.
Jasmine tells the gang that Fred infected Angel.
Wes wants to know how Fred turned Angel.
Jasmine says that by trying to save Fred she lost Angel.
Lorne can't believe that little old Fred managed to sway Angel back
to the dark side.
Note how Fred chose Angel as the one to help her.
Angel takes Fred to a deserted ally. (Someone mentioned at the time
that you could tell that Angel was upset at losing Jasmine because
otherwise he would've used his coat as a pillow for Fred. I agree!)
Angel is standing nearby when Fred wakes up.
She asks how he is.
Angel lets her know that the bullet wound isn't bad but she says
that's not what she meant.
He says he doesn't want to talk about it but she says he does.
She lets him express how he feels and says that she feels the same
way.
She explains how she figured out about Jasmine's blood.
Angel tells her that she did the right thing and that it took a lot
of courage.
When she starts to cry he says that it must've been hard for her. He
stands and walks toward her.
Fred says that she's not a champion like Angel.
Angel walks up to her and says: "Everything I see says different."
As they continue talking people walk by.
Fred grabs Angel and kisses him.
Angel puts his arm around her and gets into it.
As they break apart (with their lips millimeters away from each
other!) Fred whispers: "Do you think they bought it?"
Angel breathlessly answers: "I did. I - I mean, I didn't hear
anything."
(O.K. so Fred could've done anything to hide from those people. She
chose to kiss Angel. Angel didn't complain. They kiss four times. The
first time Angel is surprised but the next two are mutual. Fred
starts to pull away when Angel reaches in for another one. Fred keeps
her mouth near Angel's when she asks if he thinks they bought it.
Angel was so into it that he's breathless (he doesn't need to
breathe!) and he couldn't hear people that were only a few feet away.
What happened to his vampiric hearing? A little distracted, eh,
Angel?)
When Angel and Fred turn to the group they are cheek to cheek.
They fight the gang off together.
Angel and Fred climb through the window to Cordy's room.
Fred assures Angel that Cordy won't feel anything.
They kneel next to each other beside the bed.
Fred gives Angel such a sad look when she had to dash his hopes about
Cordy waking up.
When Lorne comes in Angel and Fred go back to kneeling side by side
beside the bed.
Angel and Fred sneak out into the hallway to get Lorne to get the
others.
When Wes asks Fred how she figured out about Cordy's blood she tells
him that Angel did.
Both Fred and Angel know how hard it will be to convince the rest of
the world.
Angel and Fred try to reassure Connor.
They both explain what's happening.

Wow mare I loved this episode i was in aw during the kiss. They are the cutest couple. I wish they would of gone more into there kiss after the ep like discussed it

Yeah, the writers dropped the ball on that one. You don't kiss your friend like that and then never mention it again.

hared this episode i might be the only one but oi thought the fred/angel kiss was pointless and pretty disgusting

I thought she only kissed him so she could bring him out of the Jasmine spell. Right? I haven't seen the episode since it originally aired, so I could be wrong.

I did not see the point in it and beside it made my stomach turn because to me frangel is in about any form excpet friends only and even then i am not a huge fan since i did not see all that much chemistry of any kind between them

Oh, nevermind. I read this little tidbit:

I'll never understand Season 4 even if I try.

I never thought Fred and Angel were that close. She was part of the team, but I could never see her and Angel sitting down together talking about their day.

I hate this episode and just another reason for me to resent fred more than i already did

Well, I never got any Angel/Fred vibes throughout the whole series. I know she was into him at the beginning of S3, but that ended once she realized Angel was in love with Cordelia (and I thought she fully supported it). Even Angel expresses his disinterest in Carpe Noctem, asking Cordy to talk to her for him. I know feelings change for certain people over time, but it seems weird to me that Angel would pull her in for a kiss and then stutter afterwards. I just hate how Joss made her into some kind of irresistable heartthrob. They should've just stuck her with Wesley from the beginning, but instead they used her as a boy magnet attracting every cast member on the show except Connor.

I know every malethat had to come in contact with her har to at one point be enamoured of her charms if not fall for her completely I was honstly surprised angel did not fall in love with her also. the only one who did not fall for any of her charms was a child (connor).

Anyway It was a total slap in the face to cangel shippers, cangel pairing and even cordy (and not for the first time~the kiss between him and gwen pissed me the hell off). people wonder why so many cangel fans hate and resent joss whedon, i think this should help answer why. cangel/cordy fans who were a majority of ATS fans pre season 5 were disregared almost completely once joss developed his vendetta against CC. whopty doo we got one episode s5 and that was only because SMG refused to do it because of family obligations and other contract obligations.

The Good;
All of open mic night is classic but Connor and Angel singing 'Oh Jasmine' to the tune of Mandy is so funny it makes me want to lie on the floor kicking my legs in the air with laughter! Whatever they paid to use the Beach Boys it's well worth it.
The Bad;
So Fred just happens to fall down a slope and into a demon's lair who gives her the idea for defeating Jasmine? I guess we could just put this down to the PTBs. Personally I find the demon scenes boring and gross. Why doesn't Fred try to blow Jasmine's head off? The mind control books seem to burn very fast.

Angel; "Someone has to go and get Connor"
Wes; "I'll do it. After all I've kidnapped him before"

Questions and observations;
Lovely idea that the woman Gunn and Wes mistake for Fred got her first ever TV job on Angel, I would have pegged her for AA's stand in. The bookseller rather reminds of the character of Denver from season 2 and Hank Azaria. Lorne refers to himself as Judas just as Lilah said Wes was. Love Lorne's baseball bat. Does CC get paid just to come in to work and lie down and go to sleep? When Jasmine's not at the hotel her power over AI seems to fade a little. You wonder if Angel got his CC's blood idea from Buffy and Dawn in 'The Gift'? When CC grabs Angel's hand is Fred telling him the truth about coma patients involuntary movements or just telling him what she need's him to hear? It's a small line in a big show but Angel seems to finally have forgiven Wes over the whole Connor kidnap. Possibly the longest ep of Angel ever at nearly 42 minutes
