Thanks for the new thread! I wasn't a huge Wood fan... however, my favorite role for DB Woodside was when he was on the 24 series as Wayne Palmer.

Highly recommend that show... the original. It's one of the most addicting shows ever! Like truly addictive.

Of course the first thing I ever saw him in was Buffy though... and his season 7 of Buffy was before his first appearance of 24, which was season 3.

I liked him on Buffy, it's a shame he wasn't around longer & was able to truly become a part of the team. I didn't really like his revenge storyline, but can understand why it was important for his character.

Even if his character wasn't my favorite I actually didn't have a problem with the revenge storyline.

I feel if it was any ordinary vampire, the fans wouldn't have cared but since it was Spike, fans suddenly had a concious. lol I felt the same about Holtz. lol Although I hated him... that never made me stop from understanding the movie to it.

When you do centuries worth of killing, raping and all around evil sht, eventually it's going to come back to hunt you.

And Wood couldn't get over what Spike did to his mother and the fact that he was wearing his mother's jacket as some kind of trophy....

I can't say I'd react differently if I was Wood...

Oh, I definitely agree - it's certainly understandable that he would react that way, I don't think anyone would be able to control themselves in that situation.

I just didn't like seeing him at odds with Buffy because of it, I wanted him to be a scooby & if it had been any other vampire that had killed his mom, I think he would have been

I do like when Andrew thought the awkwardness between Wood & Spike was sexual tension though

Yeah I get it, I actually understand it from both sides. Wood just couldn't let it go... however where Wood was wrong at was the timing! It was a War about to happen and Spike was one of the strongest members the team had... so they did need him. It wasn't about one person's past. It was about putting all issues aside to win the fight.

So it was a tough situation.

Andrew. lol So great in season 7.

It was, if he had run into Spike a few years earlier, I don't think anyone could have had a problem with it

& the coat thing really must have pushed him over the edge....I think he understand that Spike was different, but it must have been hard to really believe it when he still walked around in that coat

^ Yeah that's the part I couldn't defend. lol I think that is what pushed Wood over the edge is having to see Spike wear his mother's leather jacket everyday... talk about an everyday reminder.

& it really didn't make the new ensouled Spike look so good, that he still kept walking around in the coat that he stripped off Wood's dead mother like that....it must have been near impossible to seperate him from the Spike who murdered her
