I think on the show, specifically in "The Body", Tara mentioned she was sixteen when it happened. But I can't remember exactly

Buffy reunion: Amber Benson talks Tara's tragic death I don't get here much anymore, unfortunately. I can't believe it's been 17 years since I first came on this board. It was mostly Roswellians back then and has sent so far beyond its origins. |

^ Great interview! And you are right Amber Benson seems like a very class lady.
She took the info about Tara’s death like a champ. Although, I gotta admit I love Alyson Hannigan’s two cents at the end of the video.  Tara seems to be a beloved character in the Buffyverse with a pretty decent-sized fanbase. I haven’t seen any specific traits that would make me dislike Tara, but at the same time there is nothing in particular about this character that makes her stand out to me as much as some of the others on the show.  As I’m heading into S6, which will be the character’s last season, I would like some input about what it is that fans appreciated about the character; that way I could keep it in mind as I watch and try to appreciate some of those traits myself.  __________________

That art is stunning
 Tara's character grows a lot imo in Season 6 from where she starts in Season 4. It's a shame that she's killed off later in the season though  Amber is also extremely classy She's very kind and caring about the fandom__________________
