I really liked these two as buds together, I was so into them when they both were fighting over Fred

Those pics are going to make me cry.
You know that Gunn never thought he'd care so much for a middle class British man. Darn that Texas minx for getting between them. Didn't they ever hear of "bros before hos"? Not that she was a ho. Nothing short of the amazingness that was Fred could've turned such a budding friendship into something so sour. But in the end they did find some semblance of a friendship again before Wesley's death. Poor Gunn. He lost his sister and so many crew members only to join AI and lose Cordelia and then Winifred and then Wesley. Only him and the demons remained alive. __________________

I know, it really does break my hurt the way that things went south between them, I mean they both progressed so much to devleop the friendship that they had & then it was ruined!

Their friendship was ruined, and to the point of no return

sigh, yes, these two... all they have going for them, in my mind, is that they fought hip-to-shoulder.

I disagree. I do think that their best season was obviously in season 2, & with the introduction of Fred things went south quickly, but they never would not care about each other. They fought together in season 4, they would have still risked their lives for each other just like they always had.

Aw, I loved Wes and Gunn's friendship. Season 2 was definitely my favorite season for them, although I liked seeing them rebuild their friendship in season 4 as well. I'd agree that season 4 showed that their friendship wasn't completely destroyed by the Fred stuff.
In season 5, though . . . well, I have to imagine that Wes stabbing Gunn was a pretty big setback for their friendship. It seemed like they might have made their peace with each other by the end at least, though. Didn't they give each other a look or a nod or something in the finale? It would have been nice to get another scene or two between them after the stabbing, just to get more of a sense of where they stood with each other by the end. __________________
