Has Kiefer given interviews on where he stands regarding another season and the future of the show? I know the film is still in the pipeline but nothing is actually scheduled. Now I'm wondering how that will fit as if this is the last season then I would expect them to try and tie up nearly all the loose ends but then what would that leave for a film? So maybe after the film they could do one more season? Either way I really hope the film still happens as I would love to see Jack Bauer in the UK

well all the news information is that if it is that final season they have a script ready with a different ending then if the show goes one more year . Not only is it up to Fox and 24 producers but Kiefer is the main factor .

Well his deal with Fox is up in May . So it is matter of paying him for one more year ,which is $500,000 per year.

i think based on middle of road ratings AVG 12 million per week plus add another 3 million in DVR viewing , plus DVD sales over 25 million .

So viewers are there to get advertisers to pay for the show. payments for oversees broadcast .

So it Fox to say do we want to pay say 5 million a season + or let it do a final bow ,

If it is Kiefer and 24 last season one could figure ratings will go up to huge finale .

I don't think they can carry on without him, although when I heard Freddie Prinze Jr was joining I did wonder if they were going to line him up to replace Jack should they decide to go on.

Whilst I like Tony, I don't think he could ever replace Jack. Jack will always be the star of the show.

I actually think it depends on the writing, Chloe or Tony could take over or something but I don't think anyone else who just coming in could take over or if something happened to Jack probably Renee could do it since she's like the new Jack Bauer

Personally I don't feel like Tony or Chloe could takeover from Jack. I just don't. Possibly Renee could, as for me she is the female person of Jack. But really the show should end with Jack, the idea of 24 without him is just too weird, I don;t think it would work. Yes you could use the 24 concept, but actually carry on this show without him? No.

We will never know, I don't think they actually continue without him but I was chatting with people when Season 7 was airing and it was split.

Some people said they could have brought Renee in since Jack will be leaving or the could have brought Tony back from the dead to take over or even Kim.

I didn't agree with the Kim thing but I did agree with the Renee and Tony thing.

Oh god..NOT Kim.

I think when Kiefer is done, the show will be over, personally.

They could try, like a spin off or something, but I think it would fail.
