I didn't see a thread for President David Palmer, 24's best president ever, so I thought I'd start one. Palmer was one of the best characters on 24, he trusted Jack completely and always kept his cool in difficult situations, unlike his two sucessors who've both proved to fail in comparison to the great one. Though Palmer may be gone, he'll never be forgotten.

Reasons Why Palmer was the best

-Because he trusts Jack more than anyone else
-Because he always puts safety first
-Because he put up with Sherry for all those years
-Because he told the truth about his son
-Because he wouldn't put Kim in danger
-Because he stands up for what he believes in
-Because he's got Jack's back
-Because he wanted to protect his brother above his presidency
-He puts his family first
-Because he stands by his most difficult decisions
-Because he believed Jack about the recording
-Because he doesn't play dirty
-He's a gentleman
-Because he agreed to help Logan when Logan decided to suck
-Because he's the best fictional president ever
-Because he keeps his family together
-He helped Nicole go recover from her rape
-He trusted Wayne
-The people he cared about meant more to him than his Presidency
-He was the only one who get Jack to come back to CTU

Palmer & Jack: The Friendship

Jack & Palmer had a friendship of mutual respect and trust. No one believed in Jack like Palmer did and no one respected Palmer like Jack did. In a lot of ways, Palmer was Jack without a gun and wasn't afraid to do the right thing, no matter what the cost. In Season 4, Palmer became one of the four people who found out Jack was alive and kept it secret. After Palmer's death in Season 5, Jack returned to avenge him and said it himself, he'd have given his life for Palmer's. It's a shame they could never meet outside of work, who knows how their paths could've crossed.

I wish Palmer were still alive, to be honest, he was my favorite character on the show (not Tony, not Jack, not Michelle, Palmer

) and the show just isn't the same without him. And I've been watching season 5, Logan SUCKS as President! He has no clue what he's doing! I kept thinking, "what would Palmer do".

I totally agree with you about that...Logan is weird, I don´t like his decision...I think he doesn´t trust in anyone...although the actor got his Emmy nod, our Dennis got a GG nod!!!!

I agree Logan stinks, he really does. He has no backbone, and Palmer was always right because he always trusted Jack. I loved how he always defied everyone to listen to Jack, he knew Jack was right (he even let Chapelle die)

I think the guy who plays Logan is a good actor, I mean, he has to play such a weak and lame character. Dennis was so great though, every scene he did you always got behind Palmer.

What year did was he nominated for a GG?

There will never be another President like Palmer. Logan was nowhere near as good.
