I understand this. But Disney is def. more than just an owner considering how they are pushing Marvel shows and let OUAT use their recent hits in hopes to push their ratings. Shoudn't they be ashamed?
Studios are like politicians: they are only ashamed when they are caught and when people care.

And then Doherty left, other 2 became executive producers and everything left down the toilet.
Why do they even let actors become execs?

I mean...the first time I watched that final Kalinda/Alicia scene...didn't even realise they weren't in the same room. Neither did Jos. Paying attention to the story is the most important for us.
come on! You didn't notice? Seriously? When's the last time you got your eyes checked?
I get what you mean but there are instances where it just takes you out of the story. The A/K scene was one because it was supposed to be this big moment and it was so self conscious and stunted by the technical constraints of not leaving their corner of the screen. Ugh.

Don't know what to say. My eyesight is fine, but we really didn't see it It was only after I read an article on TVLine about the scene that I noticed it. It's a blessing I guess.

And yes, I know what you mean. When I notice it it takes me out of the story, but so far that only happened for me once and it was the scene ERussia linked earlier (Grey's, with that helicopter on the rooftop), but other than that? But I keep defending myself, don't know why

I guess it has something to do with money. Actors probably invest their own money in TV show if the become executive producers?

Either that, or actors want it to be included in their contracts, so that they have an even bigger portfolio after the show ends.

I think it's profitable to both.

What does an Executive Producer do?
An Executive Producer supervises, either on his/her own authority (entrepreneur executive producer) or subject to the authority of an employer (employee executive producer) one or more producers in the performance of all of his/her/their producer functions on single or multiple productions. In television, an Executive Producer may also be the Creator/Writer of a series.

Maybe it is.

no need to defend yourself. You're not being accused of anything

Not usually. Like not ever
TV producers rarely invest in shows. Studios do that. Producers are in charge of production. I think a lot of actors get producer credits a few seasons in when the show is successful or they have won awards etc because it gives them creative input (sometimes creative chokehold ) and also because it lets them get paid more than other cast members with regular contracts, without having to renegotiate a new contract.

Binge watched the whole first season of The Affair yesterday damn, I liked it. It was so well written and I like the characters. Noah is my least favorite one though. With Alison you know there's a reason she cheated. You can never defend cheating, but in her case I kind of get it. Not approving it, but I understand it. But with Noah? He just wanted to get laid imo. He made a comment in a random episode that really surprised me: ''I've never been unfaithful to my wife...I mean...it's not that I didn't want to, but ultimately it just wasn't worth it''. Like wanting to cheat is no big deal at all But yeah, I loved the first season. Too bad the second season isn't on Netflix..

if they keep making tv shows on Netflix, Disney's Marvel is going to be the next NBC. Then again, Iron Fist was a ****ing boring comic book. The more they scrape the bottom of the barrel for characters unrelated to the Xmen universe, the worse their ratings will get.

Watched 3 or 4 episodes and I hated it

Tried watching S2 of Hand of God on Amazon. Still having a major problem with some of the leads and on top of that I can't remember half of what happened in s1 that was released over a year ago
I'm only holding on for Dana Delany at this point.

It's sad. I wasn't a fan of DD and LC and was hoping that IF and JJ will save Defenders.
Also, Logan got rave reviews. Lol at him ending on a high note unlike X-Men trilogy.
New King Kong also got better reviews than I expected.

I liked Dana Delany on Desperate Housewives, but it's the only project I know her from.

Body Of Proof first 2 seasons were good by procedural standarts too.

Now I'm just mad we're going to wait forever for another season of JJ just so they can keep piling up the crap shows
Do you know if there's any plan of making an Elektra show? That, I'd watch!

Well, that's what happens when you get a real screen writer instead of a bunch of frat boys who pretend to be writers. Wolverine always had a very interesting background and personality, as well as a really fascinating ability from a human perspective, but they chose to make him a random boring ass kicking machine instead of exploring that. Now that Hugh Jackman looks like he's 60 they had to do something else

And yet it still look pretty stupid.

Well, you're young
I still remember her in China Beach. That was a pretty good show.

Procedural shows are always too predictable and formulaic for me but I'm not ashamed to admit I watched it only for Delany and and Jeri Ryan. If that makes me superficial, well
Seriously though, her character was fun. The rest of the show, meh, I don't know.

I like her as a person too. She's crazy and a cool cat. At 60+ it's not a bad way to be
