Continuing the last thread...
I really enjoyed first episode. It was one of the best for me. I also predicted like they would go this way ever since 3rd season finale. By they way if you want some sort of quick resolution you won't see it till late episodes... I hope it's not a spoiler.Piper is really annoying during first few episodes and trust me she is going to pay for it. I want to watch Wentworth but promo materials looks so cheap and it feels like they only created it because of OITNB success. I like Lolly character so much, she is like she is doing job everything think crazy eyes is doing. But I never found Uzo character really interesting, while I enjoy Lolly. Do you like Judy King? I hope they won't bring Tony... It was awful. And I read quit a few reviews agreeing with me. I understood that she couldn't have full time beard or something but it looks like they put some facial hair on her and that's it. Tony wasn't a new character, just Sarah with a bad makeup. Idk why some people may enjoy it. |

I kinda think they were going with Paula Deen not Martha Stewart... Especially after that video leaked. I understand that most don't have much facial hair but.. Well, Tony had that typical "bad boy swag" aura, and why he has this long hair? Didn't bond well with how they want to show him, Imo. |

They definitely added it to their catalog because of OITNB's success but the show begun before. I don't know if it was a good move because most people who saw Wentworth now think OITNB is not as good Quote:

Tatiana even stopped shaving her legs to look more authentic but then she was nominated to some awards and had to glamourize for the red carpet Quote:

Oh, didn't know about it! I knew it's based on the book but not about such detairs. I'm surprised that Judy doesn't look like Martha Looks like real life Piper and Larry are still married, what if they reconnect them in show |

I only have the finale of OITNB to watch and I'm done!
I liked the first couple of episodes this season and then I was bored until the last three episodes. It's like they didn't know what to do with the characters so they just brought in a tons of new uninteresting ones and kept the show's regulars for the big storyline to bookend the show. I did like Judy although there was too much of her, imo. But then that was also like that with Lorraine Toussaint back in s2 (although that was more connected to the other characters) My biggest gripe this season: it's a show about women. That's what's interesting. And they drowned it in cliché male characters. WTF with all these guards??? Between them and Caputo, it's like 1/3 of the season! They are so boring as villains go, they almost make me miss the time when it was just Pornstache and Daya's baby daddy. The only guard story I liked (and well, that was the only real story) was Healy's connection with Lolly. That was also the only interesting flashback, maybe with the one that finally told us how Susan ended up in jail. Quote:
That poor guy got screwed in the show, let me tell you. He must be a saint. Not only did he stick with Piper when she was in jail, supported her, drove hours to come see her etc but then he took the character assassination in the show like a champ. They turned him into a selfish ******* just to give Piper an excuse to **** Alex which of course she never did in the book because they weren't jailed in the same place, except for a few months and met only a couple of times then. __________________

We already have the first 3 seasons on blu-ray, but I might wait to purchase S4 and S5 untill there's a complete series box-set (which I will buy anyway, so might save myself a few bucks). I hope there will be a complete box-set. __________________

Yes, they did. Also one ot the things I dislike about OITNB is how those things like "eating mouse" and Piper's "tatoo" turned out. They didn't show aftermath which reduced impact a lot. Also, have you noticed how those who tattooed her completely forgot about her after it? Yes, Larry was very weak, but I hope he'll be back for something. Maybe Piper funeral. |

Guess they just needed an excuse to lift the branding thing straight out of Wentworth. (it's not branding in Wentworth but I guess they thought it would be too awkward having them suddenly get a steam press since we never seen them do that ) Quote:

True about "twitter moment". They didn't even mention it all until one of the last episodes when they said something like "you want to get revenge for Piper" or something. By the way finally watched last 3 episodes (watched 10 before + saw few scenes from last 3 here and there) and... Idk what to say. This show reminds me of Desperate Houseviwes. Amazing 1st season, good 2nd but it lost original charm, bad 3rd and good 4th which is the 2nd best in series. But it's clear that drama will only get bigger and bigger while the original charm was that show was actually really down to earth. Cast strenth is actually at it's peak now, I love how they all united at the end even if it was kinda basic. I love how latinos (I hope I'm not mistaken them with other group lol) decided to help girl who was beaten by CE. I love how everyone decided to help Red. I absolutely LOVE that

I did hear a lot of people say the same about it though; I guess it's a pitfall of a lot of shows that skirt the edge between comedy and drama. It looks easy but it's really not. And the tendency, especially once award nominations for the first season are in, is to make more of the drama, because it's where the awards are. And they forget about the light-heartedness that made it different. And the drama always look so big and broad, because it contrasts so much with the few remaining light hearted moments. Quote:
