Yes, the days before the network decided to play "How Many Viewers Can We Drive Away With Our Crazy Scheduling?" with TGW. Seriously, by the time Boom rolled around Hi seemed like it had aired in another era.
But then I don't really understand ratings. I don't know anything about viewer behaviour. But I don't see many people tuning into any single episode based on the episode centric promos of the episode. I think most people would tune in initially based on the overall story and image of the show, on word of mouth around them, on buzz, on the awards won by a show. But I don't see anyone tuning in purely because they see this Indian chick telling that ER lady to stay away from court. "God what could these two characters I know nothing about and couldn't care about less have to hide from each other? I'm so going to tune in." And on Tuesday 11 pm : "Glad that mystery got cleared up....now I can go back to watching the same old reality TV gems that I always watch" The problem also stems from me not understanding how anyone could turn away from TGW once they have tuned in It just sucks you in and at the same time the mythology is not so dense that you can't get into it in between. |

Please forgive me everyone, I do not optimistic about the future development of TGW. From the beginning of amazing, and now the plain, I have experienced disappointment, and perhaps despair. I think if they can move on along the original may be a better way. I would like to see a woman go through tempered and self-rehabilitation process. But now I only see the triangle, may also be straight or more square. I also note that these lead to arguments, the two camps against each other. I even see both sides to no longer look at TGW as blackmail. So where to go do the TGW? To one side is satisfied, the other left; if both sides do not choose, both sides will leave out? Now both sides are spoiled children, are capricious.
I began to feel disappointed from the E19 that is not clear why, but frustration is obvious. E20 is a disaster for me. E21 did not expect the expected, very plain. E22, such as boiled water. E23, puzzled. I feel the writer more and more exaggerated, more original from the reality, may be very confident, but the ratings seem to no longer optimistic. Sorry, I speak too directly, where if I have offended, please ignore me. |

I'm still don't know if I prefer the "few/long" or "many/short". |

If that keeps the show strong, I'd rather they have a shorter season than a long drop into oblivion.
So many shows start out succesful and end up getting cancelled because the average viewer can't maintain the level of interest necessary over long hiatuses. Look at Pushing Daisies. It was going on incredibly and surprisingly strong and then the WGA strike happened and the next episode suddenly was 10 months later! People lost interest and Season 2 was a catastrophe with the ratings. __________________

Maybe CBS should do more to promote the show. TGW is not the only one suffering from the break but they do a lot to remind people to watch.
Everywhere I go i see House, clips, pictures and spoilers. House is not new but it's so depressing to see how little the network is doing to keep up the name. |

^ I agree, CBS needs to do better promoting absolutely!

Might sound like a dumb question, and Im sure it is but i'll ask anyway why is it exactly that there are so many breaks in the scheduling of US shows? shows like Lost and 24 were great because for the most of their run the episodes ran without breaks. However thats not the case for most shows.
Is it because the 'season' runs from September to May so its just spread out to take into account sports, events & advertising etc? or am I totally way off |
