This arc with Kalinda seems to be a good lesson on.."what looks good on paper". Whatever they were going for....some version of 50 shades... That is so popular...they probably thought this plot line is fantastic.. But it is just not working...and interesting.. How as with blake, most of us agree.

Hard to say what went wrong, but as u point out Carla, they had already booked the actor and filmed some episodes.

They honestly thought audiencevld enjoy seeing an unhinged Kalinda, but is not ringing true.
They and AP did too good a job on kalinda in the first place.

He doesn't get why. He thought it was because Scott Porter is a terrible actor. So he tried again with another actor
Also, HE thinks getting Kalinda to act like a damsel in distress is how we're going to "learn more" about who she really is (ie: a damsel in distress) and he doesn't get why nobody else thinks so.

And it's not working on any level. It's not even the whole domination crap, it's just the TOTAL lack of intimacy! Like I was telling Kiki last night, you'd think they just met! He has not yet called her by her real name, mentioned anything about her new identity... anything! He seems to know less about her than we do! Little touches like that might have made the whole thing a little bearable but we learn nothing!

That's because they never really created Kalinda. She created herself. In the pilot, she was a cool chick but not much more. Everything else came with time.
And the main goal is to make her ordinary. I know it doesn't make sense but it looks like RK took the haters comments that she was "too much of a superhero" at heart and has been trying to show her in an ordinary light ever since.

I'm sorry but I can't even see how this would look good on paper....

We could have had a character that knew her best, we could have learned something about her. Instead they are just trying to find her kryptonite and it's just NOT working out.

Held steady compare to last week. 1.7 demo same as last week, and about 9.0 million viewers a little higher.

Its the damn demo that is killing us. But honestly is CBS (old people channel ) and its agaisnt Revenge, The Walking Dead, and Dexter asll shows that attract younger viewers...sigh.

I actually feel bad for TGW writers! People seem to be even more unanimous on kalinda issue this time than with Blake..
Have only read Daily Beastvarticle, but the woman is right on the. Money abt Kalinda issue....makes no sense, she does not seem attracted to him, not in character...etc! Poor RK..or whoever cooked this up...

Yea the writers are in very deep, lots of anger and not even just with hardcore fans like us. Also I like Jacob a lot, but I do think the girl is right in this article.

See this is what bothers me, what "hold" does he have on her? Is she sacrificing something for him? She seemed happy/willing to do what she did? And WHY is it that she cannot be "tough, resilient person" still? Not once did I say "oh look how weak Alicia looks" she seem to be making her own decisions? I didn't see anyone forcing her.
Well whatever I willl leave my rant there because I cannot take another person telling me this makes her weak...blah
