Replying to the old thread lol:

I agree on the principle of exposure but I think unlikely that diehard Twilight fans and High School Musical junkies will turn onto the show regularly. There might be a few crossovers but somehow I doubt they are looking for the same things in a tv show so that's kinda counterproductive.

It would be more efficient for a CW show than for TGW.
I think it's unlikely they'll get a lot of new fans from those (particularly Twilight- that fan base is pretty notorious for not following the stars elsewhere) but it gets the show out there on a different level. It puts it in people's faces with a reason to pay attention in a way that it wasn't before. Whether or not they choose to watch from that is their prerogative, but they'll know about it and be more familiar with it if they choose to.

I think they're covering all their bases right now. There's Cosgrove and Bleu from the teen crowd, there's MJF, Porter, and ER from the TV crowd and shows with established fanbases, there's been any number of Broadway names, and they've also had cameos from Vernon Jordan, Joe Trippi and Lou Dobbs. The Broadway castings get them constant coverage in theatre magazines and blogs. The political cameos got them on the political blogs and forums and coverage in places like The Washington Post. Using NPR as background for the P/A sex scene got them write-ups on several media blogs and quite a bit of attention on the NPR website. I don't think this is all about stunt casting for teens. I think right now, they're just running with this and indulging their own ability to cast people they're fans of and seeing what happens. As long as it continues to IMO not negatively affect the show, I don't care.

We have nothing on episode 8 and 9 in term of guests, I wonder if we may have a surprise.

You think it's that they're keeping something hush hush or that there's no big guest coming up. I don't mind. I just need the regulars to be happy.

Shouldn't we get the press release pretty soon anyway?

You know my opinion on too much guest. I'm just surprised that after episode seven (we don't have the press for bad Girls but the main character is already well known) there are no casting news. Maybe they need to wrap up some story with current character.

Yep. I guess we'll find out soon. I wouldn't mind no guest or few guests.

Warning: Mild Spoiler alert

The Sunday Conversation: Michael J. Fox - latimes.com

He's spilling a little bit about his character on the show. But I think I can quote this without being spoilery:
Quote:
You're on "The Good Wife" Nov. 9. How do you choose your occasional guest spots?
I figure out how I relate to the material and how I relate to the show. That's a great show, well written and well acted. If they're willing to take what comes with having me on set, which is, you can't always tell when you're getting your shot and that kind of stuff, then I was willing to give it a shot, and it was fun.

After having MJF in that role it's quite difficult for any other guest to top him.
It's sweeps time so I can imagine they are reserving some good stuff for the regulars too, especially Julianna.

I don't mind the regulars as there are enough of them and they are all strong enough to keep things going..and not all are in every epi.. like the kids.

But it seems to me that there are a lot of guests who will be coming up to the end of their tenure by the end of epis 10-13.. maybe (hope not) Eli, for sure Blake I think, Michael Ealy, suspect Anika Rose ..wonder who they will "replace" them with??

Is ep. 13 most likely the last show before winter hiatus? if the Kings are indeed planning mini-arcs, it would make sense that the first crop would cycle put at this time, though I can see some of those listed having a longer shelf-life.

And seeing their latest obsession with casting kids from NickTeen shows, I'm sure we'll see the Sprouse twins and some wizards from Waverly Place pop up soon.

The casting details said 7 episode for Blake (Bad Girls) and 10 for Derrick.
They may have changed them but at the moment that is what we know and what we have to base our speculations on.

Regarding Eli, the episode 13 is set to air around february. Last season we had an episode in december but it was odd and was also weird to start the first week of january (that schedule forced CBS vto have more breaks in spring). Episode nine could be the last before winter break (30/11), in that case we may expect a mini cliff-hanger concerning one of the recurring.

I thought Blake was signed for 7 with an option for more? Unless the K/B story comes to a head a lot faster than it currently appears, I'd be surprised if they didn't pick up his option. 10 would put Derrick's last most likely the first ep back after Christmas break. That seems odd. They could do ten before Christmas like last year but if so, I think that would be a CBS decision. From what JM said it sounds like the show is thinking nine. If his run isn't extended (I hope it is!) I wonder if he's going to miss one somewhere.

I hope so!

Just because we don't have casting news for the last couple of eps doesn't mean there won't be any big guest stars. Last year, Dylan Baker didn't get a ton of press (if any) and he ended up being one of the most memorable guest stars of the year. Same for Stern. I don't remember hearing much about Martha Plimpton beforehand either.
