Julianna Margulies, nominated for her dramatic turn as Alicia Florrick on "The Good Wife" and an Emmy winner as supporting actress for "ER," wasn't aware the Emmy nominations were taking place this morning. Her husband, who was getting ready for work, reminded her and they turned on the TV just in time for her category to be announced. "I'm thrilled that the show and this character has been embraced," Margulies shared. It's great that "a new network show has resonated with so many people." With nine nominations, Margulies plans to celebrate with her castmates -- many of whom were nominated -- this weekend before shooting begins next week for Season 2. As for what's coming next on the series, Margulies has no clue what's in store. "I have a fitting today, but I haven't seen the script," she said. "They probably did that so I didn't have to lie!"

Yes, he was even though he is a recurring. In fact he probably has more screentime than Christine.

Actually, he had a fair bit more, but she obviously made an impression on the voters. She is another one that I am sure only works a couple of days a week, unless they have another story for her this year.. hope so , think her character is great... not as funny as Jim Parsons Mom, but great!

I think Christine's nomination is also about her being well known and loved for comedy and surprising everyone with her skills in the drama category.
Screentime is unrelated to nomination status. There are numerous examples of actors getting nominated and even awarded for little screentime.
